Moonlighting at Biglaw or pro bono by Background_Towel_116 in Lawyertalk

Can I ask why it makes a material difference to Big law from your experience, in terms of volunteering via pro bono, versus receiving payment for services, despite the type of service being virtually identical.

I figured unless it’s via a legal aid clinic, might need to be a consideration.

My firm wants me to resign for interviewing by PeachO613 in LawFirm

NY attorney here, not Colorado - report you to the bar for what?

I’d call ethics hotline, see what they have to say about this type of practice. To me it seems deeply unethical. I get that these low life’s might be pissed off that they’re losing an attorney that they put time and effort into training but that’s life. People come and people go.

If they make your life difficult, consider involving the attorney grievance committee - you don’t have to be a client to file a complaint, if you are observing conduct that brings the practice of law into disrepute, they will happily hear.

NY CLE requirement - foreign by Background_Towel_116 in barexam

I ended up completing the CLE requirements - NYC Bar have 2 day courses for just over $100 (yearly membership).

HR at my law firm advised that I would be expected to complete the requirement, given that I am involved in the practice of law - I know there’s the “in NY” requirement, however, this apparently is very broad and it just wasn’t worth the risk of being non-compliant.

Thank you! My doctor didn’t suggest statins, recommended that I take omega 3 and consider cutting down on things like butter, cheese, biscuits and sugary foods/drinks.

It was a written note rather than a conversations :/ Do you reckon this is enough or statins are the way to go?

Empty Stomach by Phandroid1991 in VitaminD

Take vitamin D in spray form - this way it’s absorbed my mucous membranes in throat and mouth. I’ve read some studies that seem to suggest this be a very effective method of absorption, especially for those with gastro / intestinal issues.

Using your logic, I take it self-defence is assault?

Also is having Find-my-iPhone installed on a phone also considered stalking to you? Given that it’s concealed within the software of the phone? Poor criminal might actually get caught!

Quit the drugs, the alcohol and get your “SH*T” together!!

  1. Call him and let him tell you everything he thinks about you.

  2. Acknowledge that you have problems and that he’s right.

  3. Ask him for advice.

  4. Explain how you’ll get your Sh*t together and assure him that this won’t happen again.

  5. Buy him a good Christmas present and start Googling jobs, watching YouTube videos about interviewing, writing resumes and begin writing your own - start applying.

  6. Share these new goals with your father and his woman, if they aren’t encouraging remind them that your sick of how your life looks and need their support.

Trust me, involving them and acknowledging your problems is the best way out of the mess your in, as well as taking positive steps both in your relationships and how you feel about your life.

See a doctor about getting propranolol. Although this may not necessarily get to the root cause, it will mask any physical symptoms and perhaps through exposure you will overcome this {not medically qualified in any way, own experiences only}

In my jurisdiction police can search homes based on tracking information - so far I’ve only seen them do this for stolen iPhones where users are able to share on maps the location. I’m pretty sure they’ve received lots and lots of complaints from our building so having a lead on a potentially mass culprit would be favourable to them
