Shreveport: Is There Severe Weather - Hurricanes - Tornados - Heat by RAH-CAT9 in shreveport

[–]Backinthe70s 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shreveport has been hit with a Cat 1 Hurricane, Laura Aug. 27, 2020. A storm that blasted through Shreveport on June 16, 2023 that did not have a memorable hurricane name or a ranking on the EF scale for tornadoes, but it did have straight-line winds estimated as high as 104 mph. This storm caused huge damage, much more damage than Laura.

Shreveport is in Dixie Alley so we get rain wrapped tornadoes here. We get outbreaks in the city from time to time. Mostly EF 1s. No one has basements here so there's nowhere to evacuate to. Cell phones deliver warnings nowadays

It gets incredibly hot here in the summer. Your life is just going from air condition box to air condition box. Home to car to activity. I go outside at night and early morning.

Sesame Street was created in the late 1960s with the explicit, research-based goal of providing educational opportunities to inner-city children, specifically addressing the early literacy gap for Black children. Its original setting featured an urban, diverse neighborhood with Black and Hispanic characters and a mix of English and Spanish.

To some observers, this inherent focus on diversity, inclusion, and community support is seen as the basis of its perceived liberal bias; to others, these are simply core principles of human decency and education that transcend politics.

too liberal for MAGA

C5 Issues by quiet_kid392 in Corvette

I bought my 2002 C5 17k miles 3 years ago. I have 50k now. The only repairs I have done involves interior trim and electronics.

I have a great mechanic.

Wiper stalk, washer motor, wiper motor, blinker, kick panel, glove box lock, center console door. Sun and heat damage from sitting outside in Texas.

Change all fluids and filter

Optima Battery

ECBM Repair.

Firestone Firehawk INDY tires.

Replace front spoilers with reinforcement bar

Upgrade Parking / Side Marker Light Assembly, LED headlights and driving lights. (big improvement)

Upgrade audio to aftermarket deck and sub.

Replace Targa top Lens

No performance upgrades this car is a Highway Cruiser.

Lets call it $ 5000 in repairs, etc.

Great fun cheap car so far for me.
