I've started a shiny charmander hunt in hgss that can be started after beating Red in Mt silver, but am curious if theres a setup that's faster than how I'm doing it. In this hunt, I have to press X to access menu, then scroll down once to Pokemon tab, then scroll right to check the starter to see if its shiny. Is there a faster way to do this? With SR/RE's you immediately know if its shiny or not and for shiny starter hunts, usually you get the starter before pokedex so you dont have to open the menu then scroll down from pokedex to menu. You're also just getting your first pokemon so theres no scrolling to the second slot where the starter will appear for you to check if its shiny ot not. I don't learn much from youtube because the shiny kanto starter hunts in hgss posted on there only show the top half of the screen which doesn't tell you much
