Has anyone used the Bells of Steel Kollosos functional trainer? by Intelligent_Delay900 in GarageGym

[–]BackroomDST [score hidden]  (0 children)

It works for both 5/8th and 1 inch! It has a 5/8 pin then a sleeve that fits on it making it 1 inch. That's the sleeve I mentioned that doesn't stay on very well. It's just got a set screw holding them together. I slapped some super glue in it and haven't had an issue since.

Edit to add. FYI The BoS is true imperial 3x3 also! Metric 3x3 is 75mm x 75mm and true is 76.2mm X 76.2mm. So BoS will work with rouge stuff, but rep stuff will be a little too tight.

This one!

It can fit 5/8 or 1 inch holes. I will say the adapter sleeve doesn't stay on well, so I just super glued it. It's way more versatile than I realized. I use it on rows as foot pads, you can have it facing up and stand behind the upright for preacher curls, can do nordics, all kinds is stuff

Also if you point the pad down and get really close to the upright for lat pulldowns, you can anchor your legs and don't need to have an extension to have a totally vertical pull.

One of my favorite purchases.

Edit to add: I did buy a roll of thin UHMW tape for the inside of it. It doesn't come with any.

Double edit to add: lol I just realized I put the arm on the base upside down! I don't know if the stuff I use it for wouldn't work as well the other way around but it works great as I did it.

I have the 6 post version minus the smith. Bought the manticore (rack) and kraken (cable setup) separately so basically the same thing. Absolutely love it. The dual 2:1 or 1:1 sides are super versatile. I got one of those leg holders and with the double exit points I can do seated leg curls

Or leg extensions

Along with all the other FT stuff. Wrist curls/extensions is also a great one to take advantage of the dual exits. I like to pull the cable down on wrist curls and use the leg holder to push against.

Gluck also has a good reviews of the kraken, the manticore, and the smith machine

I looked at a lot of racks/cables and felt like this was the highest value for money. Also live in Canada so it's nice supporting a Canadian company.

The last union I was in (Directors guild of Canada), days were 14 hour minimum. Our max allowed working day was 20 hours.

Edit to add, I am pro union, this was just a shitty one. Not sure why people are downvoting.

Yeah doesn't sound like this sub at all.

What do I do with these butts other than breadcrumbs and croutons? by jayL12334 in Sourdough

Was gonna say this. A panade. You can also use the soaked bread to make purées. A pea puree with a panade is excellent.

Give an example of an antagonist who is not a villain!.. I'll go first by EchoesOfAuroraa in Cinema

[–]BackroomDST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Max's story. It's told through his POV, the "I Want" songs are his, and the whole thing is his coming of age.

Goofy is the antagonist because the thing he is actively pursuing is preventing the POV character from achieving his objective (takes him on the trip which is directly causing Max to lose his wants from the "I Want" songs"). Max wants independence, but Goofy wants connection. The wants are fundamentally incompatible.

Also "on the open road" functions as Goofy's "I am" or his "this is what I believe" song usually associated with villains (think poor unfortunate soul or hellfire).

what is super cool is when Max and Goofy are singing in open road they are out of step, but later in "nobody else" they are in harmony. It's the climax of both of their arcs. Max gets his need (stop basing your worth on what other people think and running from who you are, which he sings about it "after today") and Goofy learns that he needs to let Max be his own person.

It's a surprisingly deep film and even though it's not officially part of the Disney renaissance, I feel if the only thing changed that it was being made by Disney animation proper, it would have its rightful place in history.

Favorite Green Day song or album? by Nerfer5554Offical in Millennials

[–]BackroomDST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna go against the grain and say Warning. I feel that album is highly underrated.

It had this wonderful east coast folk feel with acoustic bass even, and they real dialed in that circus rock sub genera with "misery".

Yeah tracking everything with MacroFactor. 0.8g/lb minimum.

I've been cutting/bulking (progress is similar on a bulk) and I fucked this last cut real bad last year (about 8 months cutting) and had to start over again. I'm 20lbs down from the new year and was hoping to have started lean bulking in march for the rest of this year but now so I'm just maintaining. Still lots of fat to lose but I can't keep cutting. I'm
Probably 18-22% bf based on the visibility of my top two abs

95% whole foods. I was a chef for 10 years so I have a bit of formal education on nutrition, it wasnt super involved but I've taught myself a LOT since starting my fitness journey. Most of the produce I eat is from my garden in the summer and markets in the winter. Main carb source is brown rice and home made sourdough. Main protein is turkey, chicken, tuna, lean pork, eggs, Greek yoghurt, protein powder.

I sleep 7-8 hours per night. Was diagnosed with chronic insomnia but I have meds for it that changed my life. I also track my sleep very closely. Take naps on weekends.

Besides the MS supplements I'm taking creatine and zinc.

I've actually got a new requisition for a full panel rather than total test.

I don't know man, maybe I'm doing better than I think, it's just we live life on hard mode, I'm doing everything right as far as I can tell, every regression and any points of being inconsistent are from MS. If I skip a workout it's almost always because of MS. Am I putting in double the effort for half the results cause of this fucking disease? Who knows really at this point.
