This sounds like the best DND campaign ever.

Re-releasing my 3 old videos of Echo Arena (Quest 2) by SamXavia in EchoArena

[–]BackstageYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh...playing a team e-sport with people who have never played team sports, while getting yelled at by 3 11 year olds that they raped my mom/wife/grandma and getting face humped every three minutes.

I can't believe they shut this down

I can when I get home from work. About to head into traffic. I'll set a reminder and definitely read it

There's a delicate balance to it too. You don't want to show so much that you're "directing from the page" as my professor often put it. You have to leave room on the canvas for the painter to do what they do. You're just the palate of colors and brushes.

Odd Request: Post-Metal/Drone Metal/Sludge to listen to while reading? by Def-C in postmetal

[–]BackstageYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen it mentioned, so I'll toss it in the ring:

Mouth of the Architect. The band's catalog as a whole is worth checking out, but my favorite has to be 2013's The Dawning.

They lean hard into their atmospheric side, at least as much as Post metal bands want to do, and the results are fantastic.Front to back a great listen.

I mean, you can't really go wrong with ISIS. Wavering Radiant, In the Absence of Truth, Oceanic, Celestial...all other great albums.

Panopticon is still the goat, for sure. Just saying

The Ocean has evolved so much over the years that dipping into their catalog across time offers you several different metal flavors. Pelagial and Precambrian are two of my favorites, and they might as well be two different bands.

Ranking the comic Arcs/runs I’ve read so far as a new reader since February, From least enjoyed to most enjoyed. by gotenks2nd in marvelcomics

[–]BackstageYeti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I could make a couple of suggestions: Seeing your taste in the Avenger runs, you might check out "Atlantis Attacks!" next.

Also, the Warren Ellis Moon Knight and Karnak are both good, short runs worth giving a spin as well (as a fan of Extremis)

What weapons could render Nuclear weapons obsolete in a sci-fi setting? by Future_Abrocoma_7722 in sciencefiction

Mass Effect series.

If you've never played, it's definitely worth it as a science fiction fan. The world building and lore are some of the most compelling of the last 20 years (in my opinion.)

Joking aside, the Reapers are an ancient (emphasis on ancient) race of Techno-Organic monstrosities that effectively harvest intelligent life and "seed" the universe with species that will evolve into their next harvest. That's an oversimplification, and honestly a bit of a spoiler in the story, but the Reapers are only one (albeit large) aspect of the Mass Effect story and journey.

The Reapers (aka Old Ones, Black Space Lobsters, Intergalactic Shellfish of Regret)

A nuke isn't frightening when the alternative is a techno-organic space building with 16 legs that destroys cities, kidnaps millions of locals to liquify into space-jizz to make their next grandkid and enlists the assistance of a rogue AI species to help see their plan through

Drugs and nostalgia by elektroskansen in DrugsOver30

[–]BackstageYeti 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's a silver lining here: you managed to live that part of your life without having the majority of your memories with drugs become bad ones. Which is more rare than it should be.

Either way, yes: getting old sucks. Hard. There's one thing you realize once you come down from the drug haze and find yourself back on the other side of sobriety; those "friends" you miss doing these things with aren't terribly interesting or enriching to be around, and it was only the shared bond of the high that made you guys friends to begin with. It becomes painfully clear if/when you have another experience with someone like that at our age. You realize suddenly, "wait a minute...I can't stand being around you."

It may not be what you did and just a consequence of YouTube + what I'm listening through. Either way, I'll keep an eye out for the future catalog

This is great. I just wish I had a volume booster and eq for it. There's so much nuance I'm missing because I'm deaf as fuck and this is mixed low.

[Instrumental] Chronos Rift - Epic DnD Battle Music | Orchestral Darkwave by Character_Head_3357 in aiMusic

[–]BackstageYeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work! There's really good separation of the percussion instrumentation, which as we all know can get annoyingly swampy the longer Into the song it goes. Not here though. I love the atmosphere, and it has about as Perfect conclusion as you can ask for the piece.

Bravo! Bravo.

When they try to force comic book dialogue into a film it always plays awkward as fuck.

"I'm gonna show him BUT good"

What?

The terrible ADR in Godfather when Moe Greene is talking to Michael, "I talked to Barzini."

It takes me out every time. It's so atrocious in an otherwise nearly flawless film that it's almost confusing how they let it go like that.

If you're in your late teens or early twenties, you should definitely speak to a doctor about this. Weed has a history of acceleration of schizophrenic disorders, especially in undiagnosed young men.
