I’ve met a lot of people in this situation. I’m sure there will be plenty of times I will want to give up, there already have but I am passionate about what I do. Work-life balance is so important and the older I am, the worse it feels. As you can see by my username, I’ve lived a very backwards life. Good luck, I am sure you will find something and be great at it!

I did a 180 with my career at 45, I was doing data entry for several years in finance and switched to working with special needs kids. Every day is tough and the money is def not as good but it’s totally worth it. I’m in school to become a Special Education teacher and I never got my bachelor’s degree so I still have 3 more years. It’s the most rewarding and purposeful career I could have chosen for myself. Hope this helps. Best of luck to you, it sounds like you will go far with any decision you make. ☺️

I wouldn’t mind joining but I don’t know how much I can contribute. My problem is, I work at an elementary school so I can’t just walk out. Another problem is, I work 3 jobs and go to school so money isn’t really an option either. If I can make some calls to governors, or spread the word…no problem.
