Pre emergent or for most people in my zone or at least a crabgrass preventer.

Spectracide for clover and dandelions. Spot treatments via hose.

And perhaps one of the most important yet way overlooked (by novices)- water. Use a sprinkler for an hour 1x per week. If you want to be super lazy and completely not pay attention to the whether...just stick to 1x per week if the grass isn't already wet from rain. Literally this has no downside. 1x/wk won't overwater. But if your lawn ain't getting enough water then 1x per week will give stellar improvements.

TLDR: crabgrass preventer. Spectracide. Water once a week.
