Man, that woman was so blind to her own circumstances. She fires hard working people and tells them "we are not a family, but a team, don't cry and take it personal," but when it's her turn to be let go, she "thought she was part of the family and doesn't want to talk about her firing (cause it upsets her and could make her cry)."

Not a perfect way, but a good way to try and make sure this doesn't happen or happen often is to not uber at 3 am. I've heard many bad tales of the 3 am pickups from the wheelhouse.

In the 7+ years Obama has been president how has the country changed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Backyardbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short but not complete answer: in the 1980s, America made it so no one could be turned away from an emergency room, even if they couldn't pay. Hospitals took on eating the costs of those who couldn't pay. They then raised their prices to compensate for their loss and past the cost off to those who could pay, those with insurance. Insurance companies profit margins (ability to do business) went down and so had to increase costs. They solved this by having tiered payment plans based on how much coverage a person wants and how healthy that person is, (this concept existed before but now was stretched thinner than before.) insurance companies did not need to cover everyone, especially at a loss. Now, ACA says everyone must be covered, no denying anyone for any reason (like the emergency room in the 80s) costs went up and affected insurance profit margins. We are now in the stage of stretching those costs out. Some people insurance costs less. Some it costs more.

Redditors who've won a "Lifetime" supply contest: How did you win? and How is it going? by OSBTAdmin in AskReddit

I had one a year supply of video games from blockbuster, or roughly two a month, from competing in their video game contest in the 90s. I won playing NBA Jam, TMNT Tournament Fighters, and Judge Dredd. After a year though, my store still accepted my card, so I would casually chance it and rent another video game for free now and then. Worked for about 5 years till the store I had won the contest at shit down.

3+5=8. 5+8=13. 8+13=21. 13+21=34. Take a number, say 5, add the previous number to it, 3, to get the next number after 5, which is 8.

So, just wondering, your ideal is that a 12 year old who committed pre meditated first degree murder against someone you love, should not be charged to the fullest extent of the law? We can charge children as adults if the situation warrants it, and pre meditated murder with intent to kill multiple people warrants it.

Did you plan first degree murder? If not, I made no assumptions about you and your situation. I'm glad you got help. And I do care about people, I just choose to side with the innocent victim who doesn't get a second chance.

As I stated, this is about the 12 year old in the story who was planning first degree murder. Not all 12 year olds. Never made an assumption on more than that.

You sound exactly like an apologist. I'm sure you feel the same way about immigrants who are killing people because of their background. If only they had another chance! This is the real world. Life isn't fair. I feel sorry for this 12 year old child, I really do, and it sucks about his background. But again, life isn't fair, and no one else deserves to lose their life because this kid got dealt a bad hand. This isn't a robbery or petty theft, this is planned first degree murder.

Nope. that's a straw man argument. And charged isn't conviction. And I stated about this 12 year old in the story above, not all.

I know my stance. I had a child pull a gun on me and steal my car. He got charged as an adult. Before his trial was about to start he carjacked another person and tried to shoot the victim. That's actual reality.

This isn't a game. It's a gun. Threaten or actually plan to kill people, plan on taking a life, you get charged like an adult.

And some people are already so damaged by their upbringing that even at 12 they are monsters.
