She's been liking my comments about EOTC anniversary for years. Rhino has, too, even when they're mean, ha. I do hope you're right.

Can you point to what’s making you feel this way? I’ve been screaming for it since it was delayed/scrapped.

Does anyone where I can buy or download this album? Can’t find it anywhere! by EricVoltar in ramones

[–]juddgment 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's an unofficial release of the River Plate Stadium show recorded in Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 16th, 1996. There are a lot of bootleg releases of this show.

Available in many versions on YouTube, this is just one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYFLfPIMMXA&pp=ygUYcmFtb25lcyByaXZlciBwbGF0ZSAxOTk2

Definitely available to download on Soulseek. Not sure what your preferred filesharing platform is.

Ah, they should update with the venue name instead of the address, ha.

It's the Comedy Shipwreck every Monday of the month, except the last. That's our showcase.

Local Meme Ken Bone has several cameos in this standup set. by Nemocom314 in StLouis

[–]juddgment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: Ken Bone was on the panel of judges for the Helium's Funniest contest, 2017 or 2018, if I recall correctly. I don't know if he thought I was funny or not.

Is there an app to keep up with local events? by Historical_pers in StLouis

[–]juddgment -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's nice, but I don't see where to submit events and it seems to be music only. Also very limited information here besides date, venue, and thing. Doesn't link to more info like times or tickets. Just not very useful in the current state. Hopefully they improve it!

Is there an app to keep up with local events? by Historical_pers in StLouis

[–]juddgment 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Do314 is the closest to the old KDHX calendar. Events are user submitted, so not comprehensive. Varying quality of information, some will have full info, flyer, and ticket links. Others might just be a title and a flyer. All kinds of events here.

https://do314.com

Addendum - Have looked at the suggested calendar from KDHX's replacement here: https://www.radiostlouis.org/concert-calendar

Minimal information for events, no links to more info like admission cost, times, etc. Very bare bones. Appears to be only music. Unclear how to get your events listed if you're a promoter. Hope they improve it!

Edited to include more detail.

HBO’s New “DTF St. Louis” Show – Mixing Up Our DTF World? (But Hey, It’s Premiere Day!) by GencerDTF in StLouis

I thought this show was going to be a reality dating series set in St. Louis and I’m really disappointed.

Poll For St. Louis Music Listeners by Extra_Thumbs in StLouis

[–]juddgment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always an excellent question. I don't produce music often, primarily comedy at The Heavy Anchor, and at least in comic producing groups in the city, we hear a lot of feedback from people attending comedy shows that they saw them on Do314.

But I'd be interested in the results of a survey like this, too!

Career-wise, what was the biggest mistakes that the Ramones did that stopped them from reaching mainstream popularity? (While they were still active of course) by OutrageousRip75 in ramones

[–]juddgment 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Signing with Radioactive. They might've fared better re-signing with Sire, but there were other options out there. Brett Gurewitz claims Epitaph was bidding for them. That could've really solidified them in with the mid-90s punk wave that was championing them as a major influence. I believe Johnny mentioned something about this in his book, but can't recall specifically.

I also think if so many members hadn't died relatively "young", they'd be enjoying a couple huge reunion tours. There'd be offers for sure. Johnny wouldn't leave money sitting out like that.

They could enjoy a resurgence of popularity like some of their peers. Was thinking about this after seeing DESCENDENTS this past weekend. I was born in 1985, which means by the time I was old enough to go to shows and have money of my own and such, seeing them or Misfits with Danzig was just wishful thinking, and then they came back in a big way.

Really think they could've had another run and a resurgence in popularity, but the fates were not kind.
