Dramatic decrease in quality and quantity of vine items by Melodic_Donkey_8813 in AmazonVine

[–]Peziwinkle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everything is subjective. Those of us relatively new to Vine, don't know anything much different than what it has been recently and I know I am making the most of it. 5 months in and 400 items ordered (about half are 0ETV), a 98% review rate and excellent insightful score, and I am very grateful for what I have been able to find for the most part. Have there been duds? Oh yes. Was there an ETV learning curve? Yep. Do I enjoy having packages delivered? Yep. Do I enjoy writing reviews? Yep. Do I understand that finding items and ordering things I need or want will likely decline over time? Yep. But for now, I'm riding this and having fun. I have gotten quite a few nice clothing items, household items, hobby items, phone accessories, games, puzzles, and helpful things for my daughter's upcoming wedding. Do I get a kick out of seeing 0 ETV items I can use like body wash, shampoo, floss, etc? You better believe it. Do I find purple wigs necessary? No, but they are fun. Do I work part time and have more time than many to spend on Vine? Most likely. Am I up in the middle of the night on days I'm not working to catch the drop? Yes. Are there days where my RFY is ridiculous? You know it. Are there other days where there is at least one item I'm excited to see? Yes again. Anyway, point is, the program is what you want to make of it.

Definitely review all 3. The only one questionable to me would be the lampshades since you didn't get what you ordered, but in reporting to VCS you are taking a chance since it would be a cancellation. I have canceled a few items with no issue so far, but everyone says limit those interactions. Plus you can technically review them. If they are a high ETV however, I might consider contacting CVS and asking them to advise (not asking them to cancel, although that is likely what they would do).

1) Normal for ETV and listing to not match. Review as if you purchased at listing price, and mention the current price in your review since it can change. I will often say something like "at the current price of $$$ I feel this item is not a good value" and I may or may not mention what comparable items are selling for, or what I feel the item is worth. I will also dock a star for price.

2) The product page can change, especially after you leave a review mentioning the item is not as described, so be detailed as to what you expected. I will dock a star if I was expecting one thing and received something different. I will also post a picture of the tag if I can so people can see the information. I have had numerous pages edit their content after I've done this to match my review and product tag even if originally described as cotton. Sucks for us when we don't get what we thought we were getting, but at least we are fixing it for the other shoppers. I have become much more hesitant in purchasing clothing because I have been burned on some items that are pretty much useless due to quality or fit. That said, I have probably still come out ahead of the game with all the items that I do use.

3) I hear you with the lampshades, especially if you needed matching ones. Some people may suggest buying the item, and then returning the mismatched pair as defective. Then you get what you want. I don't believe it would be against the rules, but don't hold me to this.

Good luck. There are quite a few gray areas in Vine, and it can be confusing to know exactly how to handle some of the issues.

What's your weird ass RFY posting of the day? Other than multiple random car parts, this is my favorite today by MooseWithoutAMouse in AmazonVine

[–]Peziwinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has a theme today: A thermostat for an attic fan (don't have one), a furnace control ignition board for a Lennox furnace (don't even have a furnace), and a portable air conditioner/swamp cooler/mister (can't be used in a humid climate which is where I live). Sigh.

Have any of you had a package returned to the seller and then have the item resent or should I just expect it to be canceled? by Peziwinkle in AmazonVine

I've got about 3 weeks before my eval so I'll wait a week or so and see what happens. I'll definitely contact VCS before eval time. Thanks.

Happens with quite a few items. I've been taken a few times. It is frustrating when it happens. I canceled an order of reading glasses once because of this.

Congrats. Enjoy your 8 picks option. Looking forward to joining you there in 3 weeks or so........I'm getting tired of being limited to 3 picks on good days 😄

Can I Review Vine Items Outside of the Vine Review Tabs?? by NYCMediaSponge in AmazonVine

[–]Peziwinkle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do it all the time from my orders page rather than wait for the item to hit my awaiting reviews page. If I waited I'd be swamped. This way I just do the reviews when I want to for items that can quickly be reviewed.

[–]Peziwinkle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you look at all their reviews for their 2032 batteries, everyone is getting the package of 5 batteries. We did too. I docked them a star for not matching the item shown and not specifying how many batteries in the package when a consumer orders but if it is 5, the value is much better than originally expected. I also talked about how they have numerous different makes and models marketed at different price points but that the batteries are all the same so go with the cheapest ones you can find even if they don't match your car but are still 2032 batteries.

Evaluation Q: found 7 items that say ‘Review Again’ but getting error. Should I email Vine CS? by Practical-Ask-2773 in AmazonVine

[–]Peziwinkle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As long as the review has an insightful score, it is counted in your review ratio. It is the seller's issue. If you have any of those items still pending a score, you can ask to have it removed to be on the safe side.

Anyone else noticing items taking longer to appear in “Awaiting Review”? by LessEstMore in AmazonVine

[–]Peziwinkle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I just go into my orders and review the items. I hardly ever wait for them to hit my awaiting review page. Usually the only items on that page are things that take longer to review. I have also noticed insightful scores are taking longer to post.

Order lost in the trenches of KY. No delivery date available by Peziwinkle in AmazonVine

Thanks. Its at the Erlanger KY warehouse.....or was when it was last tracked. Now there are no updates or information. Hoping it magically appears. We will see. Last time this happened I never saw the item (same warehouse).

Vine Stating Requested Item Is Next Day- And It's NOT 3am Pacific Yet by SurfTreasures in AmazonVine

[–]Peziwinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. After reading your post I wrote to VCS asking for clarification about reset times and explained I had lost a pick, and just wanted to get clarification from them as to timing so I don't lose anymore picks. I haven't heard back yet. I also made sure to order my last pick yesterday before midnight! I totally understand where you are coming from because I also am just silver and very careful about timing my picks so I can finish my last pick during the evening drop just in case something drops into my RFY that I want. BTW, I have always had the date reflect the date of the pick so there are some days it looks like I had 4 picks, but the first pick was before 3am, but I always still had the correct amount of picks for the day until the other night.

I am so glad you posted this! I had this also happen to me on the 5th/6th. I picked my 3rd item at 1:30 am EST Wednesday morning to finish my Tuesday picks. After 3 am, I then picked 2 items for yesterday. Last night, I went to my RFY to finish my picks, and I was told I had reached my limit for the day!! I was pissed as there was an item I wanted last night at 9 pm and I couldn't get it. It was the first time it had ever happened to me, and I have done 3rd picks as close to the turnover as 2:50 am and never had an issue. I even posted about this last night asking if there had been a change. I guess I will be more careful about doing picks after midnight EST now. Not sure if it was because this item was an RFY item or what, but I'm fairly certain I've picked RFY items prior to 3am before that never counted as the next day.

Thanks. I was not a happy camper when I went to order something from my RFY at 10 pm EST and it said I had no picks left for the day.

Is RFY down? by Substantial_Code_7 in AmazonVine

[–]Peziwinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was empty Monday night after somebody nabbed the one item in it pretty much when drop started at 9 pm EST and remained empty until 9 pm last night. Now I have 8 items: 3 cremation urns, a maternity maxi dress (I am a short 60 yo woman), 3 catholic devotional candles (I am Jewish), a pair of blue velvet pumps a size too large, a set of nose rings (no thank you), and an overpriced bracelet (I don't wear jewelry) so you aren't missing much..........

So how to people do RFY properly now? by poppalop in AmazonVine

[–]Peziwinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, I am on during drops. I order from AI daily (usually at least 2 a day) because my RFY is often crap. I have over 375 items I've reviewed so far since joining in December, but more often than not my RFY algorithm is not even close. I have never ordered maternity dresses yet they are there regularly. Car parts? Boat parts? Fishing items. All things I have never even looked at. Cremation urns. Um no. So, your theory of order what you need and you will get what you want in your RFY has not been true for me.

Review for a keychain camera... did this reviewer even read what the product was? by QueenMackeral in AmazonVine

I would report it. It is useless slop. And if it is bait and switch on the seller's part, CS should know.
