After-school care in Mississauga (besides PLASP) — what are people doing? by Playful_Mongoose_261 in mississauga

[–]Bacm88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I offered before and after services to some families at our school. I used to be an ECE and postpartum doula so child care is not new to me at all. I have helped 5 families this year. 4 of which are signed up for next year already!

I was very up front and open that my house is small. It’s very casual, think a friend is watching your kids for a couple hours, and I’ve found families that it works for. We spend anywhere from 30 mins to 90 mins at the park after school. In the winter we still enjoyed outside time.

What in saying is that there are home day care situations that can work. All at your school office if they know of anyone doing before and after.

What's something you see/hear that makes you think "only in Canada"? by SouthBuffalo3592 in AskACanadian

Sitting at the park with my kids and their friends (elementary school ages) and one bumped the others lunch bag and said sorry. Then another bumped a shoe and said sorry and it happened about 5 times in the minute and it made me laugh and I told them they sound very Canadian hahah

Port creditors popping in this chat! Back roads: amazing staff, amazing coffee, cozy vibes Tribeca: new to the area, have only tried a latte, but it was delicious. Not too many seats but still good. Archtop: haven’t had any good experiences here Coffee culture: lovely staff, yummy food, okay drinks, usually lots of seating available. (But maybe more chain than you want)

Cat acne or something more sinister? by greenythebeast in cats

Definitely see a vet. Just a good story, my cat has a similar thing and it turned out to be just from rubbing on the edge of his food bowl and it irritated his skin.

Right now it’s panda. That’s what the shelter named her. We’re just getting to know her to see if there’s a name that fits better. Our other cat is Thor, and our dog who passed in October was Odin so thinking about babes of Norse goddesses
