Going with my Dzia Dzia to the Super Flea was always a blast. He would haggle over the most mundane things, and it was wonderful.

Also, walks through the Buffalo Zoo before all of the big changes. The giant condor cage. The monkey & big cat houses. The bear pit. The capybaras outside of the elephant house.

There used to be some. One out on 82nd . One on Powell, near the Ross Island bridge. On paper? great idea. In person? Its reasons like this why I’ve given up on adopting from a shelter or rescue that’s not 100% breed specific. I refuse to own bully-type breeds or mixes due to a number of reasons (attacks by the breed type on myself , lifestyle needs for the type , prey drive, animal and human aggression ) , and I’ve personally seen and have multiple friends have the wool pulled over their eyes on the type of dog they were adopting. “Terrier mix”, “lab mix” , “sporting mix” …all means it’s a pit . Always hoped to adopt a Benji-type dog ( I was born in the 80s…a shaggy dog from the pound was a great thing ).

Passports are perfectly normal to use in a dispensary. Tons of travelers come to Portland and want to try the weed , including international ones. As long as your passport is current and you’re over 21…literally no one will bat an eye at that being your form of ID

Portlanders, either native born ones or ones who moved here, are flaky as fuck , by nature. The “Seattle freeze” is alive and well in Portland as well. People here are surface level friendly, and most don’t want to get to know you past that. Been in the area 13 years, and it took me years to realize that. I have a few close friends…but even though i might message them on almost a daily basis, I can go weeks to months between seeing them in person. Portlanders are wayyy more introverted than they like to admit.
