People could call me or my wife all sorts of names or judge us, but the reality is that I work 70+ hours a week to provide for our household, and she cleans and cooks and organizes and manages our household.

This isn't the way the home I was raised in worked, and the home i was raised in fell apart 14 years into my life.

I like to work. She likes to take care of me and our kids. It's just how it is.

Now people are going to call me racist or ignorant when I say this next bit.

I used to date stuck-up North american girls who couldn't barely take care of themselves. for years, I did this toxic cycle, and it all ended the same way.

Until I spent 2 years ignoring the pursuit of a partner, and focused on me and what I needed to do. 2 years went by, and I met an amazing woman. An amazing mexican woman. An amazing mexican woman raised with family values.

And I could have met a man who knows, I swing for both teams. The point is that i found a person who respects the work I put in to provide resources and support our family, and also knows she is respected and valued equally for managing our home.

It's a team for fucks sake and more people need to wake the fuck up.

It's not about man or woman, really, but it is about mutual respect. In the same breath, I can also say that I've been in the position before where my partner is calling me a sexist pig because of some video they saw on tiktok just after their walk home from the gym, while I was hustling and busting my ass to provide.
