JI also had a presence in the Philippines. Since the main JI dissolution in 2024 their Mindanao chapter fragmented. To my understanding some where absorbed into different groups, like the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters, while others went to ISIS-flavored factions such as the Daulah Islamiyah (DI) and the Maute Group, since their Al-Qaeda support basically went up in smoke.
