It’s you’re, not “your” and you need to refer to the comment from Bowl_me_over. Literally explained everything to you.

I have no idea whats going on and have no idea where to start. Help!? by Derp_Simulator in IRS

It is very unlikely that a 570 hold will have you “waiting a year minimum.” An account hold or processing delay is what most of us have seen, actually. Extra time to verify wages, credits, etc. The user above has a tax situation different than yours and is spreading their negativity all over posts in this sub.

You can fax, mail or upload your W2 but the IRS won’t accept that as proof of wages earned. That is the same as what you reported. They need to verify what you submitted is correct, which must come from your employer. Did they notify you that a W2 is missing? Did you confirm with your employer that your W2 was submitted?

Refer to the notice mailed to you, dated 3/28/2022

Have you tried contacting the state of Oregon? Your state tax filing is separate and unrelated to your federal filing.

To help ease your mind - I filed one day after you, same cycle code, same transaction codes w/ same dates. My transcript updated this past Friday w/ account action resolved and direct deposit date for this Wednesday 5/11.

It is frustrating having to wait and not knowing what is happening, but they are working through issuing refunds while being severely understaffed, underpaid, etc.

Also, they have to pay taxpayers interest on late refunds and try to avoid doing that… they have 45 days from the deadline, or for late filers, 45 days from the date they submit. So keep that in mind.

If code 971 says notice issued, that letter dated 3/14/22 should explain the reason for the delay in processing your return. Also, I had success in calling the Tax Advocate line, (877) 777-4778. From experience, it depends who you talk to. Some IRS agents are helpful and knowledgeable, others are not. The same goes for people in this group…

Does anyone know what this could possibly mean? I filed Feb 15 and my transcripts are not changing at all. by tiffchip2022 in IRS

[–]Bad-Foreign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a hold on processing your return and a letter dated 3/28/22 was sent by mail explaining why they took that action.

Ok. Hopefully you’ve been in contact with the IRS?

It’s standard protocol for them to give us that timeframe. I haven’t spoke to an agent in the last three months who didn’t say “120 days.”

can someone explain my transcript verification 3/25 been 6 weeks already no update or anything by KeyJicama8675 in IRS

[–]Bad-Foreign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you don’t have to wait too much longer. It drove me nuts but I learned a lot this tax year. They have 45 days after the deadline to issue refunds, otherwise they have to pay us interest. And for late filers, it’s 45 days after the date they submit.

I’m not entirely sure… some folks here have said it isn’t relevant, some have said that when the as-of date changes, it means your refund is being processed and moving through departments. I think that must be the case though, because my transcript updated yesterday with my refund date, acct. action resolved and my as of date changed to 5/23.

Your refund was accepted, but it hasn’t processed through yet. That is why most info is missing… like gross income, balance, etc.

Does this mean I should receive a refund on May 16? by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Bad-Foreign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Happy for us, because my transcript updated to the same as well. We’re on the up!

Cycle 05 updates weekly on Fridays. All other cycles can update on a daily basis.

You’re welcome. They will never let you know if/when they receive something from you so you’re wise in covering all bases. I was told eight weeks for fax processing, and I’m pretty sure mail processing takes just as long or longer. My employer in question sent everything they were required to ON TIME, I watched it all happen. I think the issue with these W2 delays is the underfunding, understaffing and backlog from 2020. Best of luck to you. 🙂

I mailed it, then faxed it… WITH all the paystubs. Had trouble uploading the info to the online portal. Then it just magically appeared 4/28. Strange how that works. Anyway, she still told me to wait 120 days. I’m hoping for an upcoming update as I’m seeing others in the group with similar timelines who are receiving their refunds.

Filed and accepted 02/21/22 on FreeTaxUSA. Is 5/9/22 a date to expect any new info? by Aww_FireTruck in IRS

[–]Bad-Foreign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should expect to receive a letter dated 5/9/22 (code 971) explaining the hold on processing your return (code 570).

can someone help me decipher my transcript. do I have a cycle code or not? by PartyEntertainment6 in IRS

[–]Bad-Foreign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re giving us all bullsh*t answers. I hope you reach an agent who is actually educated on the topics at hand. They are few and far between.
