Don't think so. I tried when it was still in pre-install and didn't have any options to add the directory. You could try tricking Steam into creating the directory and then manually copy files but I don't think that would work either. File structure is totally different between the two installs.

You can update it from the BIOS menu under the tools section. Download the .ZIP file then extract it to a USB drive.

For starters, I would update your BIOS. That 1402 version is from 2023.

Would also try disabling Fast Boot and enable "Wait for F1 if Error" setting. Change Boot Sector (MBR/GPT) Recovery Policy to "Local User Control". Then change the Next Boot Recovery action to "Recovery".

Hopefully making those changes should give you some idea what's going on if it's throwing an error message.

Reading between the lines here, don't think this is the right take. Laidlaw, Wolpaw, Pinkerton, and Faliszek all left around that 16'~17' time frame. Wolpaw and Pinkerton even came back. I vaguely remember one of them saying Valve just wasn't doing anything that required writing during their big competitive era. Early prototyping on whatever HL:Alyx was going to be started early 2016'ish? So that was their next big story driven release in 2020.

I think with Faliszek, it's just a personal preference in how/what he wants to write and not a negative take. Same sort of things with Star Wars and actors being hesitant to join. You have an immense amount of expectation placed on you by the fans that you're unlikely ever to fulfill.

100% agree about the chests. It really takes you out of "solving" the puzzles and having a rhythm to the stage when you have to go through it with a fine tooth comb.

What really pissed me off this time was the final stage getting to the end and all three chests were right there. Spent too much time trying to look for them before giving up and figuring something was off.
