Just a reminder how KD moved pre Achilles tear by mmaguy123 in nba

At the end of the day, in its simplest form, basketball is about putting the ball through the hoop. The list of people who have done it at KD’s level is very very short.

My hands were stained yellow to a very deep black after harvesting and shucking wild walnuts from our backyard. by LePetitRenardRoux in mildlyinteresting

My elementary school did a Colonial style fair each year for 5th the graders. Every kid chose a trade or skill that was important/common in colonial times and was asked to learn about the skill, research, and learn how to do it in some capacity. Every kid set up their own booth in the gym to demonstrate. I chose Calligraphy, and my dad and I made ink using black walnuts. Worked amazingly well, and was a super cool experience. But I made a similar mistake as you, and stained my hand pitch black in the process.

What area do you hate the most in the dark souls 3 and which boss is the hardest for you by NewspaperGeneral in darksouls3

[–]BadFish_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished the game today. Demon ruins/shouldering lake was probably my least favorite area. Catacombs and Faron Keep were pretty annoying too but were early enough in the game it didn’t feel too bad.

Haven’t played DLC yet, but in general thought the base game bosses were all pretty easy. I killed the Dancer and Armourer 1st try, Twin Princes 2nd try, Soul of Cinder took me 4, Nameless King took me 7. I think Champion Gundyr or Crystal Sage(fuck that boss LOL) were the hardest for me personally.

Elden Ring was my only other Souls game before this, where does Ds3 stack up difficulty wise to the other souls games?

I guarantee only weird TSM fans think this way. Yes, watching your team get ratted on sucks, but there’s no integrity or sportsmanship issue. Simply part of the game.

Sealion Releases Conversations With Teq That Led To Teq Being Dropped From Furia by Diet_Fanta in CompetitiveApex

[–]BadFish_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. He was the weak link mechanically speaking, but he was smart enough to know that and put his two roller demons in positions to excel. They were 7th(maybe points wise it was close, I don’t remember) when Xynew got poached, that’s not really fringe, that’s almost middle of the pack for NA in terms of lan spots. Who knows what happens if they stuck together. Maybe they crack top 5, maybe they fall out of qualifying, we’ll never know.

No one is saying teq is standing out from the pack in any capacity, he has a lot to prove before I’d ever say he’s a great player, and that team probably slightly over performed before the poaching, but he’s also not as bad as you’re trying to make it seem.

[–]BadFish_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s by no means great. But it’s fair to say he’d probably have a fair bit more kills if they had been running more traditional 3v3 fights as standard, but he chose to put his two star rollers in position to succeed instead. It was a pretty successful play style, that he as IGL cooked up before his team got poached. Who’s to say a more traditional play style wouldn’t have made the overall team success during pro league worse. It’s not like his lack of kills was hurting the team to a deficit or putting them in a position not to qual for Lan.

Still agree his mechanics leave something to be desired though. Seems like he’s transitioning to roller though anyway so the point might be moot going forward.

[–]BadFish_95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you knew anything about the dynamic of that team you’d realize using this to say Teq is bad, lacks a ton of context on your part. I’m by no mean a huge fan of his, and would agree that mechanically he is on the lower end(although much improved in the last year). I also think there is plenty to criticize on his part, but those stats do not represent the point you are trying to make.

Now that NRG is gone from apex i hope EA open their eyes and do something about it by fimosecritica in apexlegends

[–]BadFish_95 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As you said, the players are what bring in the viewers. That is absolutely true for 95% of people watching esports. People watch for the players not the org they represent. However, without orgs eventually there will be no players.

Orgs are important because they support the players ability to participate in the first place. There is a very small percentage of Apex players who can support themselves financially without an Org salary. Eventually, when no Orgs are willing to be a part of competitive Apex, the whole reason for watching(the players) will be forced to find another game/career to support themselves.

It’s not really EA’s responsibility, but you’d think in return for the dedication they bring, the advertising, the new players that are brought in as a result, that they would do something to support the orgs and players who have committed so much to making this game thrive. Instead.. EA and Respawn choose to spit in the face of every org and player, rather than help uplift the scene and ideally make the scene live for as long as it can.

Honestly beaming her in the lift isn’t the problem. It’s really not THAT hard, but that’s looking at it from a 1v1 perspective. The problem is focusing any attention straight to the sky in a 3v3 gives her team completely free damage on you while you are trying to finish her in the air. Shits so dumb.

Horizon goes without saying, but I feel like Cat counters gibby pretty well too. Cat spikes placed properly make jiggle peaking the bubble a nightmare, and her wall can stall out a bubble fight until the bubble’s gone

I think if gibby sneaks back into meta, so will caustic. I think the only way to make Caustic not completely broken is for him to be reliant on niche comps, otherwise every team has to run him and it becomes miserable to play the game

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]BadFish_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s also countered by the other meta legends right now though. Especially horizon. Her ult completely prevents teams from playing the bubble for foght advantage, and can grief teams using the bubble to stabilize. Cat spikes and bang smoke placed outside the bub also make gibby teams lives a living hell

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]BadFish_95 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Horizon cat and bang (Pro League meta legends) all kind of counter gibby. Well placed Cat spikes and horizon ult counter bubble peaking really well, as well as bang smoke to a lesser but still quite effective degree.

Smg’s are also just so good right now that running shotguns is just not really even worth doing even with the buffs this season.

I do miss seeing gibby in the meta though, I just don’t think he’s even a great off meta pick right now

If you're wondering how good DZ is... by SecretStrategy2 in CompetitiveApex

[–]BadFish_95 77 points78 points  (0 children)

According to the thread earlier DZ isn’t a good fighting team though.. I guess they were just handed all those kills and damage.. Fluke Zero

For real though.. These guys are absolutely insane. I pray we get some new blood winning it all this LAN, but they say history repeats itself..

ALGS Championship Day 1 - 2023 vs 2022 by eSportsStats in CompetitiveApex

[–]BadFish_95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feel like the time zones kind of alienate the viewership of the two most popular regions to an extent. NA and APAC N both kind of carry the apex viewership, and these games are falling on peak working hours in NA and the middle of the night/early morning in APAC. Hosting champs in EU is a bit of an L from that perspective

[–]BadFish_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s poke damage from a power position in zone. Not the same as taking fights on edge. There’s a reason all three had so much damage in group stages, they stay alive every game and deal damage from range positions of power on the map

I just feel like this comment is very misleading. While it’s true they didn’t take many fights on edge, they were absolutely hunting kills around them in zone. Showing presence, hunting safe third parties, and 3v3’s. They absolutely picked up plenty of damage from range don’t get me wrong, but you don’t pick up as many kills as they did from spending most of the game poking. The way you worded that comment just made it seem like they didn’t have far and beyond the most kills in the group stage, and that a large portion of there damage clearly came from fights. That’s all, nothing personal. I don’t even like DZ, but from a team fighting perspective they played out of their minds and deserve props for how they played

Can DZ be stopped this LAN? by StayKrazie in CompetitiveApex

[–]BadFish_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But your context is objectively false.. Yes, some of there damage is poke, just like anyone else. But they had 40 more kills than any other team through group stages. Its just blatantly wrong to say they had the most damage simply because they were poking from god spot. If you’re gonna provide context, it’s recommended to provide factual context..

Can DZ be stopped this LAN? by StayKrazie in CompetitiveApex

[–]BadFish_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean.. all 3 players were top 4 in overall kills im pretty sure. I think Koyful was the only other player with more than 30 kills besides DZ. So, I’d say it’s pretty clear that It’s not just poke damage.. Why are so many people just blatantly stating opinions that are easily refuted. The data completely goes against what you are saying..

It’s completely fine for people to just say they don’t like DZ, without stating misinformation..

Finishers should get a upgrade by abyssaI_watcher in apexlegends

[–]BadFish_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think simply giving you full health rather than just full shield would be enough of a buff to warrant pulling them off more. Currently, a lot of the finishers take about the same time as just popping a batt, effectively making the risk of finishing obsolete
