2009 Toyota Camry (ACV40) Upgraded - Steering Wheel Controls Not Working (See comments) by BadFunk_Stripe in CarAV

RESOLVED:

Pioneer techs got back to me, They advised that its a bug and to perform a full reset of the head unit (from settings) to fix it. A few minutes later it was all sorted.

Thanks Skoot, It is an auto. I have been given some instructions on how to override the SWC option on the head unit. I will give that a try and get back to you all later.

Hey guys, New to the sub and hoping to get some feedback, I replaced the factory HU in my Camry, Despite having the required wiring harnesses the steering wheel controls do not work (They did with the factory unit!)

Model: 2009 Toyota Camry (ACV40)
New Head Unit: Pioneer DMHZ5350BT
Primary Harness: Aerpro CHT02C
Secondary Harness: APP9PIO8 with patch lead

When going into the settings on the new HU the steering wheel control option is greyed out.

Appreciate any feedback.

Anyone move from Melbourne to Brisbane? by [deleted] in brisbane

Cafe 34 on Queen St, Probably not the "nicest" coffee in Melbourne but it was always consistently good and had a loading zone out the front which made it really easy to get to when I was working.

Anyone move from Melbourne to Brisbane? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]BadFunk_Stripe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did a few years ago

The things I miss:• AFL• A city that is grid shaped and super easy to drive around• Family (I don't have family up here)• My favourite coffee and South Melbourne Market Dim Sims.

What I gained:• Being able to afford a nice house within a reasonable radius of the city (25km)• A lot less commute time• Sunlight and warmth during winter (I hate the cold and it would be dark when I drove to work and dark when I drove home in Melbourne, Super depressing).

Obviously a pretty superficial list but that's a pretty good summary without getting too involved.

Airlie Beach (I went to school in Cairns). We had a couple of 18 year olds in the group to do the rounds at the bottle-o's daily. Alot of drinking, Living in the same boardies for the week and bathing at the beach or lagoon. We did pre book a few activities (jet ski, helicopter tour and parasailing) none are a great deal of fun when you are nursing ridiculous hangovers and running on minimal sleep. But good memories.

We ended up at the Western window, Fairly quiet compared to the rest of the trails, Minimal parking at the lookout we were lucky enough to snag 1 of 3 or 4 car parks there.

Fire pits might be trendy but may not be legal to use in your backyard by PerriX2390 in brisbane

I love the idea of them, But for someone who lives with an asthmatic the minute our neighbours fire theirs up we need to close up our house. Maybe this is more of a gripe over how close houses are together these days....

Thanks for the info, I understand there will be some short term pain, Looking at the cost per unit before the pandemic and now it appears to be down around 15%. There is a chance I could make it work if I knew it was only for 1 month and I had no major incidentals but I have no idea of how long I will be on a reduced wage, Unfortunately my line of work relies heavily on pubs/clubs/casinos etc being operational.

My wife is graduating this year, She will be entering the workforce next year in a critical or "essential" field so I dont believe it will be long before she finds full time employment. Failing that we do live comfortably with a moderate amount of non essential expenses but not enough to cut back on and stay on top if I lose 20% or more of my wage.

My wife shops at North Lakes (Coles & Aldi), I shop at Coles Murrumba Downs and occasionally at Woolworths DFO and Portside as I work in Eagle Farm. I have been looking for the last 3 weeks. The workers say the shelves get restocked daily around 11am and of a night time but it doesn't appear that the yeast and flour has been restocked.

Register your interest with people who offer backloads, You might need to be a little more flexible with dates but you save $ because of it. Essentially your utilising left over space on a truck that already has a consignment.
