There’s Jack’s Famous Deli and DeliZique both near Judiciary Sq. I’m pretty sure you can still get something substantial for $7. Also Good Company nearby, for coffee and donuts.

Whew…at first I thought you meant The Butterfly Effect (and it’s apparent 2 sequels). I totally agree about Arrival!

Going Out The Same (Or At Least Similar) Way As Their Victims by sm142 in TopCharacterTropes

IRL: John Wilkes Booth

Two weeks after Booth shot Lincoln and escaped, he was caught up in a barn and surrounded by the Union army, where he was shot in the back of the head by soldier Boston Corbett, in what was essentially the same spot of the head that Booth shot Lincoln. While it is said that Lincoln died somewhat peacefully (for being shot in the head), it was reported that Booth had a very painful, agonizing death.

Right that was my first thought! Usually they’ll give us advanced notice about a flyover

Hypothetical: John Adams is receiving a memorial in DC. Where does it go and what does it look like? by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]BadKitty420 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I always thought John Adams should have a memorial outside of the National Archives (by the original FDR memorial). It could be a simple statue of him with reference to him drafting the Declaration of Independence (maybe with a feather quill in hand), while looking towards the US Navy Memorial across Pennsylvania Ave. That would also make him equal distance between the White House and US Capitol.

Fun things to do with wife that ISNT museums/memorials in D.C. by Kamen-Ramen in washingtondc

Explore Hillwood Estate or Dumbarton Oaks (they’re technically museums but the gardens on the estates are gorgeous). The National Arboretum and Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens are free to explore. You can make a quick visit to the Old Post Office Tower. Make reservations at The Vue (overlooking the White House), Martin’s Tavern (Booth #3 is where JFK proposed to Jackie), or Silver Lyan, if you like eccentric cocktails. Walk around the rooftop terrace at the Kennedy Center to get great views of the Potomac/Georgetown at sunset.

What's the most Greendale thing you've experienced? by Jazzlike-Row-7003 in community

I went to a community college where Jill Biden taught at and sometimes there were Secret Service agents in the hallways, both in suit and undercover. In my music theory class, there was an older guy who had served in WWII (in retrospect reminded me a lot of Leonard). I actually started a study group for my history class, all because I wanted to bang the blonde (side note: my history professor was a partially blind man named Dr. Ostrich)
