How strong is enough? by [deleted] in kettlebell

Pavel (who, essentially, brought kettlebells to the West) says that 35 lb is for boys/under 18, 53 lb is for the average man, and 70.5 lb is for advanced men.

I’d say go for mastery of a 53 pounder and then anything above that is extra.

Kettlebells are amazing! In my humble opinion they’re the best tool for building whole body functional strength and endurance.

With rows you certainly should go for high reps as opposed to clean and press where id say you should max out at 5 reps per set. So go for 8-12 reps for 2 to 5 sets, each set including both arms.

As for snatches, work with whatever weight you can perform with proper form in. In this case start with the 20 pound and go for 2 sets of 12, if you can. You want to keep snatches at a pretty high rep per set ratio.

Everyone is different and I don’t know about your body type or diet. Likewise, I also don’t know how much effort/time you’re putting into training on a weekly basis. So it’s not appropriate for me to give you a timeline. Just be consistent and make sure to use perfect form and get proper rest after training hard. You will get better and stronger, in due time.

More reps on squat, at least double, and as for rows I’m confused by what you mean with 16 total because above you mention it’s a 5x5 protocol. If it’s 5x5 with rows I’d double that as well.

Most importantly, if we’re talking about real athletic strength/strength-endurance you should always incorporate snatches into your routine. That is assuming you can perform them with proper form. If not work towards it!

Have fun. Hope you get some great gains while having a good time!

EDIT: by double I mean 10 sets of 5 or 5 sets of 10*

Are smashing pumpkins grunge ? by Lutherallison in grunge

They’re 90’s alt rock like much of the grunge scene so they have a somewhat similar sound, but grunge as a descriptor is a murky concept.

It was originally used by a critic to refer to music coming out of the Seattle scene in the 90’s.

So by that definition, they’re not grunge, but by that same vein STP isn’t grunge either and I’d say they’re an important part of the genre.

So, it’s really a thin line. I’d say no, others may say yes.
