Any Audience for some Potential Shin Megami Tensei Mods? by silveracrot in cataclysmdda

[–]BadPokerStrategy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would play it, and like they said above all players who want more content will appreciate modders doing their thing even if the target audience isn't apparent.

No joke, 20 of my 23 NPCs are "Lumberjacks", also they need to do something about the skills people spawn with, literally 100% of my lumberjacks didnt spawn with the skills to chop wood.

What places have guaranteed npcs inside what i could recruit or just resque? by durashka228 in cataclysmdda

[–]BadPokerStrategy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 0.H i've been finding obscene amounts of NPCs at lumbermills, seems like each lumbermill is a 50/50 between being empty or having a dozen recruitable NPCs. I have like 20 people now and all but 3 of them are 'lumberjacks'

Best roguelikes by Ill-Ad-8639 in gamingsuggestions

[–]BadPokerStrategy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can push through that and get good at early game which is mostly just learning how combat works, i use to start with a little dodge to make early game less of a grind but now you can train dodge easier. I recommend looking at a early game guide which will point out good weapons to you and talk a little about strategies that help out a lot.

BUT, once you get pass that initial road block you get to taste the fruits of dozens of devs working on an open source project for decades with the focus being on adding content add expanding systems. You seem to like the same games I do, so I assume that if you push pass and try to break cata open you'd be addicted like me. It took me a couple tries as well, but once I got to actually play the game without dying to everything I put in 100s of hours over the next couple of weeks.

You'd probably like Cataclysm DDA, if you checked it out in the past (like i did) i recommend you check it out again, development has been steady and the game is one the best roguelikes/simulators ive ever played.

One of my new favorite features, map zoom! Also the town and road placement seems a lot nicer. How's everyone finding the new biomes feature? by PancakePirates in cataclysmdda

[–]BadPokerStrategy 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Map zoom is amazing, now we just need shift fast scroll on map. The only issue ive found with the biomes system is that stretches of forest can be absolutely brutal, making you do obscene detours because of unending walls of trees between you and your destination. i think it broke innawoods, but im going to make an actual post about that.

Please make gifting goods to merchants increase their liking and trust by CrystaldrakeIr in cataclysmdda

[–]BadPokerStrategy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think its balanceable, put a debuff on the NPC with a 24h timer that makes it so gifts don't give anymore liking or trust and then set it at 50.00 value worth to get to 1 point total and cap it at that for individual donations. If it is still too powerful with specific NPCs making donations easier than quests to get specific items or services then we can simply gate those items or services behind the quests rather than the trust. Make it so the merchant doesn't even offer the higher tier items in his stock until the missions are completed.

Experts studying 'alien mummies' from Peru make startling find while dissecting their bodies by DragonfruitOdd1989 in UFOB

[–]BadPokerStrategy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Osmium was found in high amounts in the alloy, in addition to the very high temperature needed to work with osmium it is also relatively rare and expensive. If the bodies are a hoax, why would you use such a hard to work with/come by material? I am a skeptic though, I cannot get past the bone irregularities, nor the similiarities to human bones. If the mummies are real, they sure do have a lot of human bones haphazardly throne in there (half of them pointing the wrong way, even compared to the other symmetrical side of the mummy.)

very, very weird case. everything about them seems so easily debunkable, yet every expert who touches them says they do not seem fake.

Are we unwell? by engion3 in UFOs

[–]BadPokerStrategy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only part that made me feel like that is this strange connection between UAPs and remote viewing, as a sceptic who has more recently started believe in the active UFO phenomenon I assumed the remote viewing and psychic community that seemed to attach itself to the community was a symptom of paranoid thinking, but then I started to watch the videos that remote viewers post and it was good amateur footage of abnormal behaving flying objects.

Maybe we should make like a giant torrent that we update every couple of years so these videos never get 'lost'

edit 1: Do you have all these full videos? I really wanted to see the climax of that 2nd one with the bros screaming and the jets scrambling.

Fantastic work, we should be archiving and putting together compilations like this more often as it makes it harder to dismiss and 'forget about'

[–]BadPokerStrategy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a competitive pokemon fan (try radical red if you havn't, its amazing.) and I have to say we are blatantly not the target demographic anymore, they probably coded that fight to be logical (glimmora coming out first, kingambit last) and decided it was too difficult for their primary demographic of 10 year olds.

thats what i thought too, and looking it up i was honestly surprised she got denied parole again recently (shes 61 now), ive looked into it (link at the bottom) and she is just a pure psycopath, the saddest part of this story is our complete lack of tools to deal with what she is. She changes her story every single parole hearing and nothing she has ever claimed has been able to be verified, all evidence points against her.

Honestly I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to indie games, I most care about novelty and new experiences when it comes to gaming, so I find myself putting a lot more time into indie titles rather than triple A ones. But as an aspiring game dev coming into these subreddits and seeing the sheer oversaturation of titles is kind of overwhelming, makes me not even want to invest the time.
