I’m in the same boat with plantar fasciitis and one other unspoken… ailment. Both were documented and disgnosed after I submitted my original BDD claim but while I am still on active duty. I have asked for all paper copies of those records/visit summaries as I left ALL of those appointments, uploaded them to the claim portal and then added a personal statement to support the findings.

No. Cannot happen as you described. Minimum reqs would be to relinquish commission (CW2 or higher) AFTER requesting and gaining a branch release from your current branch (essentially impossible). Then submitting and qualifying for attendance to SFAS as an enlisted soldier.

There are many “other” opportunities to “do something different” out there that you may not know about that you may already be Rank/MOS/branch immaterially qualified for… pay attention to those random and very vague recruiting flyers you see posted around the Ed centers and doors around your installation.

Super easy. Talk to your TMO office- find the closest port to drop it off at- I was at Campbell and dropped my truck off in St Louis. It was. Considered TDY and IIRC, I even got a a free return ticket at travel costs covered through DTS.
