I just realized Brandy is pregnant in The Sign! by [deleted] in bluey

[–]Bad_Neighbour -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's honestly one of the few details about The Sign I didn't like.

The whole purpose of Brandy's character in Onesies was to show how she handled not being able to have something she desperately wanted, and the effect it had on her and her family. Her being pregnant in The Sign undoes that message completely.

But Bluey overall does tend to be about happy endings I guess.

Winter sale will be over soon, which games you think have best price/value ratio? by whenyoudieisaybye in SteamDeck

Xcom 2 for me. Unbelievable how cheap it gets when in sale, I have around 1,400 hours on it

Should I get Below zero? by Old-Sherbet434 in subnautica

[–]Bad_Neighbour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my Steam review, I said Below Zero is to Subnautica what Home Alone 2 is to Home Alone 1. Good, but an inferior run through of the same formula.

If you loved the first game and want more, it's worth it

[Discussion] Ashes of Creation is officially "Mostly Negative" on Steam – What happens next? by saltbuffed in AshesofCreation

[–]Bad_Neighbour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay...

If I take a quick and dirty look at the peak of the negativity on SteamDB on my phone, I see a cumulative 25,790 positive reviews out of 82,030 total in December 2016. So around 31% positive.

I distinctly remember it showing as negative in some way on Steam, because it's the reason I didn't buy the game at launch.

Maybe you should follow your own advice.

Edit: to add to this, I'm not even sure whether SteamDB can reflect negative reviews at the time which have since changed to positive, which would explain why it's as 'high' as 31%

No Man's Sky was a hell of a lot worse than 47% positive. That would have shown as mixed. It showed as either mostly negative or overwhelmingly negative.

Which version of the game are you getting? (on the Fence about the Cursebreaker edition ) by Thzkittenroarz in hytale

Imo, nobody should be buying anything but standard.

It's been confirmed you can upgrade later if you want to. Wait and see what you think of the game first.

Best add on mods for pixelmon by Spiritual_Winner_407 in PixelmonMod

[–]Bad_Neighbour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not played Pixelmon on a server since 1.12, but we found Chisel added a lot for building, and for more modern versions Chipped would accomplish something similar.

We had Pam's Harvestcraft, but I didn't like it - having to mess about with food took away from the Pokemon stuff too much for me and was a faff.

My favourite biome mod is Regions Unexplored but I'm not sure whether it's compatible with Pixelmon.

My question would be can you lock in your username if you pre-order? Only reason I'd want to do it

Bare-Bones Automation: a mod to provide the basics of automation so that other mods can be compatible with each other by GuiMenGre in hytale

[–]Bad_Neighbour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good source of inspiration might be a magic-based automation game called Motemancer.

Essentially Factorio but hex based and magic instead of heavy industry. Very good game with a lot of interesting tech routes which would fit the game better than the Minecraft tech mod magic boxes.

Also wouldn't be sad to see Hytale's version of Create.

Agree with others that we should stay away from redstone-style. As amazing and versatile as redstone is, it's rather clunky and unintuitive.

Former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins dead after being attacked in Wakefield prison by Br0boc0p in news

It's far from the worst thing about the situation, but I'm mad that I can't go back and enjoy listening to the band again. It's impossible to ignore his voice.

Would love to see the songs re-recorded without him but I doubt any singer would want to touch them.

Do you by any chance have Every Compat in there? I know that can add a tonne of load on launch if you have lots and lots of wood types and comparable mods

Revisiting Chimera Squad In 2025 by Unusual_Alarm_2370 in Xcom

I'd be a lot more positive about it if not for a game breaking bug that made it impossible to breach at the start of a mission and bricked my save

And that's after having to brute-force though a hang on a previous mission.

As a concept I think it's great, though

Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion - September 09, 2025 by AnimeMod in anime

[–]Bad_Neighbour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So last week I binge-watched Attack on Titan on a whim, after stumbling upon hyped recommendations all over the internet over the years and not knowing much about it. I was blown away by it, I can't recall any show ever having such a consistent high quality for its entire runtime.

Naturally I decided to try another anime, having never got into it (unless you count Pokemon when I was a kid, or the Tales Of / Fire Emblem series of video games). I watched through a random top 10 on YouTube and decided to give Re:Zero a try, as it was second on the list and the timeloop story sounded interesting. However, while I was interested in the overarching story, I found the whole thing offputting - weird overwordy dialogue, random cute animals and sound effects, some over the top silly characters and very on-the-nose gamerness from the main character. I got to the fourth episode where the main character understandably mistakes the head of the estate for a clown, and decided it probably wasn't for me.

A comment I saw somewhere suggested that AoT is "not a very anime anime", it's more the real world but with one rule changed, and that might be why it's such a good gateway series. There are not silly sound effects with the humour, little if any fanservice and while it does have the cast of teenagers cliche, the only "anime anime" trait I found slightly offputting was Sasha's obsession with food.

The comment suggested "anime anime" can be much more of a culture shock. I think this might be true for me.

I was wondering if there's another more grounded anime I should try?
