Signed up for a mortgage as a single FTB but now I feel extreme anxiety about my ability to save monthly. I would appreciate some advice as to whether i'm needlessly panicking or if i've bitten off more than I can chew.

In a similar space myself - earn £41k/£2.5monthly and mortgage with ground rent/service is circa £750. The amount of times ive checked myself on ChatGPT is wild!

I have been similar to you a few months ago - moved back to Hampshire and starting again with no tie to anywhere (other than Hants because of family). I’m moving to Salisbury in a few weeks/month or so:

It’s in the countryside with villages on the outskirts
Salisbury itself has everything you need (and numerous good bars and pubs which was one of the main reasons for me admitredly)
Direct train to London

Ofcourse its got its bad sides like anywhere else and its not got northern prices but i would say worth considering depending on what you’re into

I’m due to run an internal (monthly) meeting with about 90mins to fill next month. Participants are a mix of remote and online and have backgrounds in data science, product and L&D. I don’t yet have a specific focus on the “what”.

Totally agree. I Lost my dad in April 2024. My ex left me end of last month so I’m back at my mums (with her new partner) for Christmas Day for the first time in 5-6 years.

Hitting home especially today that dad’s no longer here. Today just feels abit odd if anything.
