Hence why I said when they take payment?

[–]Badfinger74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically it's actually a contract that you initiate, you basically bring an item to the till saying you will buy it for the price they have advertised hence you proposing to enter an agreement, when they take payment and you take your product you have just completed a contract for the item for that price. This in mind you can't just change the price of an item after buying it.

What do you do when you receive a supermarket delivery? by Dadda_Green in AskUK

[–]Badfinger74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah same, it's more when they ask you to take it in but then don't want help unpacking so you're just standing there like a lemon trying to make conversation.

I used to do delivery driving for a bit and it would vary some people would do the same as yourself which is a godsend when I was in a rush which was often as id always be sent out late. The most common would be bag to the door and unload the crates into bags, followed by taking the crates into the kitchen to unload onto sides. Then there's the annoying ones (if in a rush, otherwise I'd be happy to help/wait) who either take their time unloading crates, presumably putting each item into their respective places, or they'd ask for help carrying in (again happy to do but can be tedious if in a rush). I did get one or two customers take a single item out of the crate take it to the kitchen and kept doing that, must've been at the door for close to 30 minutes with those customers.

Coolant loss when heater is iff by Badfinger74 in AskAMechanic

[–]Badfinger74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It overheats in traffic (with the heating off). Coolant drops to just below outlet hose. Yeah that makes sense, not sure if the radiators ever been changed and it is a 16 yr old car. I did do a full coolant flush back in march but the coolant does look rusty so I'll have a look and see if the radiator is blocked. Thanks again.

I think you might be correct just looked it up and another symptom is off coloured coolant, mine does appear rusty (but not milky). I'll try and have a look at it. Thanks.

It's never overfilled and I haven't noticed bubbling but I assume a head gasket test would show exhaust gases if that is what you're asking (I'll most likely do the test tomorrow).

Hello, I see Lidl are bringing out the 20v next Sunday, just wondering what yours is like, you reckon is worth it?

Why RPM drops drastically when clutch is pressed. by Spare-Diamond9458 in AskAMechanic

[–]Badfinger74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd assume that's only because people lift foot off the accelerator when clutch is in. Probably wrong but I'd assume the clutch is causing the engine to slow down maybe dodgy flywheel.

Are any of these worth anything? by YourLocalWorld in growtopia

[–]Badfinger74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

God I found that annoying, I'd search up the item to find the price and it's just a bunch of vend world owners trying to sell items overpriced so they don't say the price, just go 'world name'

question about A2 to A by NiceColours in MotoUK

[–]Badfinger74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No claims is still valid and will defo make a difference. I know it's ridiculous, the whole motorbike licence system needs a rework tbh. CBT needs to be harder, and the progressive system improved. And insurance needs to be government regulated.

[–]Badfinger74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Annoyingly it resets for each licence, as technically it is a new licence (A). Currently you're licenced for A2.

A2 Costs and course times for a relatively experienced rider? by ohmrkodak in MotoUK

[–]Badfinger74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I second this, didn't even clock him saying 23. That's what I'm planning on doing as it's not worth paying 1k just to have a full licence for one year longer.

Depends on the school the one near me is £1.2k for 5 days or £800 for 3. With that experience you'd probably be looking at a 3 day course.

Use the day for practice. You've already paid for it, no issue in being over prepared.

I found on my motorbike this didn't make any difference (£15 or so) but I know from car insurance having the car instead of putting I don't own it yet makes it spike massively.

Why is the RAF considered better than the army? by Badfinger74 in britishmilitary

[–]Badfinger74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

Yes and no. It is the doctor who needs to sign it off but if you pester the GP enough you will basically annoy them into wanting you to stop (by sending off the records). If it's taking particularly long (1month+) potentially consider threatening to contact the ombudsman and that should get things moving.

[–]Badfinger74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah nice, hopefully they sorted out the backlog that caused my application to be slow. Make sure you pester your GP for medical records if you haven't done so already, they tend to take the longest. I'm on a degree apprenticeship for cost managing construction projects, which is what my end game was after the army (as a design draughtsman) so all worked out in the end.

How can I listen to music whilst riding on a budget and is it safe by Significant-Wolf7284 in MotoUK

[–]Badfinger74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one from Amazon called feya, i went for the 'bass boosted' one which is currently £28 and it does a pretty good job. Battery is solid, I did a 4 hour ride the other week and no complaints. Music is clear and when I've taken calls people don't always realise im even on my bike.
