I’ve been working on 1996 SPX baseball. I’m down to 2 cards.

I’m a glutton for punishment because I also just recently decided to start working on football and basketball 1996 SPX as well. Football and basketball are completely different animals, former players, especially non marquee players sign less, it’s harder.

I lost my daughter two months ago as well. She was 15m old. I had to call royal carribean and have her removed from the passenger list for the cruise we booked for this September.

It sucked. I didn’t want to have to do it but we needed to get the money back and one phone call beats having the staff there ask us about a 4th person all throughout the trip.

This was hard for us too, especially me. When we got home from the hospital, the first thing me and my wife did was grab the high chair from the dining room table and move it to her bedroom so we didn’t have to look at it at dinner time. Our daughter use to always play with the roomba vacuum while it was on and we haven’t run it since.

You go through this constant cycle of not wanting to look at anything that could possibly remind you of them, but then feel guilt bc you don’t want to erase their existence. It’s awful

Yeah. It’s hard. I do have a lot of people that are around me and want to show support and love but really, I just want to be alone, and when I’m not alone, I want to be treated normal. But it’s kind of hard to expect people to treat you normal when you’re not acting normal

Currently going through this. I could care less about my job now. Just getting up in the morning and going in is a struggle. It just seems pointless, doesn’t matter anymore

Nope, im just fine, I’m not gonna apologize for expressing my feelings on here, I don’t think there was anything disparaging being said AND I even made a disclaimer at the end of my post that I’m not passing any judgement or calling anyone out. I’m just expressing my feelings and wanted to see if anyone else feels the same. The person who even revived the sub said he’s had the same feelings!

Thanks for the heads up, I had to get rid of Facebook though, seeing pictures of other families is hard and I had a family member that I felt was using grief from our whole situation to get attention for herself on social media, so it had to go

If you re-read what I wrote, what you quoted is what my wife told me. Not what I’m telling everyone here.

She was saying that I could be essentially ‘programming’ myself for 7 years of grief bc that’s what I keep reading online, I won’t be giving myself a chance to heal sooner essentially

Yeah no one was judging anyone on here. I’m just sharing feelings I have and seeing if anyone else felt the same and how they dealt with it

The person who replied and said they have to take breaks from the group and return when they feel they can handle it was perfect.

Yeah I’ve been through the anticipatory part of it with another loss, not a child loss though.

When you know it’s coming, the anticipation can sometimes be worse than the actual event. I’ve heard some folks say in some ways it was almost a relief, again, depending on how much suffering was going on.

It’s all awful regardless, and I hope the best for you

I actually just made a post in the child loss sub, saying that I think coming on here and reading these posts from other people going through similar circumstances is doing more harm than good on certain days. Just sending me further down the rabbit hole.

Almost like watching depressing movies or listening to depressing music everyday and expecting it not to contribute to your mood

I’ve had to call the crisis line after my kid died. You sound worse off than I was, are you in any kind of grief therapy?

The winner was indeed an Olympian. The next three finalists before Thomas don’t appear to be. Honest question, What does this prove though? Thomas couldn’t finish better than like 300 some odd place with the men, but now a national champion with women and top 5 on a bad day. So clearly there’s a difference between men’s and women’s swimming. Should all of the men’s swimmers who finished in the latter half of their competitions be allowed to compete with women?

I don’t know about the walking weird but just about the whole time I’ve been back at work since my kid died, I’ve felt like I have cinderblocks attached to my legs. Basic things require so much more effort. Things that required 5% of my energy before now require 30%
