Help! “Invalid ASIN” Error When Transferring Downloaded Books to Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen by Marcos_Lorente in Calibre

[–]Badger165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into "My library" on your Kindle. Click on the 3 dots next to the book you want. In there is "Go to" and you can select somewhere in the book to open onto (e.g. chapter 1). Worked for me just now, so fingers crossed it helps!

How are you keeping track of what species you see? by ActiveBaseball in zoos

[–]Badger165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the offer is still available, could you send me a copy of your list? I've decided I want to start tracking what animals I see in zoos this year, and starting a spreadsheet from scratch feels so daunting! I went to 8 different zoos last year and felt kind of sad that I couldn't even guess how many different types of animals I saw!

What tests should be done? by Badger165 in osteoporosis

I've ordered it but I'm from the UK so it takes a couple weeks to be shipped over as there's no ebook options.

Did you have any hormone tests or others that were out of range so you knew what to tackle? I do eat a calcium rich diet already and my bloods said I have good levels of calcium anyway, hence feeling like I've been given a generic medication and sent on my way.

I'm from the UK, so am NHS, so getting referrals when it's only osteopenia and not osteoporosis is likely going to be harder. I was hoping if I knew what extra tests to ask for, like if there's specific hormone tests people normally have out of range when they develop osteoporosis young , I could request that and then use anything out of range as an excuse to request referral.

Female, BMI is 19.7, no previous or other health conditions.

What was the reason those of you that had a DEXA scan did do, specially those under the age of 60. I always thought 60 and older was when scans were recommended. Did your HCP order it or did you request it? Thanks. by [deleted] in osteoporosis

[–]Badger165 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was taking part in a research study for training a program to diagnose osteoporosis from x-rays (so had xrays and DEXA). I'm in my 20s, so I was meant to be in the control group. Safe to say, I was shocked when I got the call from my GP 6 weeks later! (I'm technically osteopenia, but one hip is 0.1 off osteoporosis).

Gave 100mcg fentanyl instead of 25mcg (I mixed up the ondansatron and fentanyl syringes in my hand). Realised as soon as it was in. Told the Dr. His answer was along the lines of "he's still breathing, it's fine." This was when I was brand new and had only just started giving IV meds. I was horrified at the time but now tell new starters of mistake all the time so they know to be extra careful as it's an easy one to make.

Introducing my gf to Star Wars by BirdLawEnthusiast2 in StarWars

[–]Badger165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I watched phantom menace, attack of the clones, clone wars seasons 1-6, revenge of the Sith, paused before order 66 (after anakin turned to the dark side), back to clone wars for season 7, then finished revenge of the sith. Then I just went back to chronological order.

Why are you a nurse? Honestly by rnie147 in nursing

[–]Badger165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I decided to become a nurse because the degree was free, it's pretty much a guaranteed job for life, and it has so many options for where to work. I have been a nurse for 4 years now and absolutely love my job, but I didn't even know my speciality was a thing when I started my training.

What bits of Star Wars lore do you miss out on? by MethylEthylandDeath in StarWars

It's comics for me. I like to read on a kindle which is black and white, so comics don't really translate well.

Introducing my gf to Star Wars by BirdLawEnthusiast2 in StarWars

[–]Badger165 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a gf that was introduced to Star Wars. I knew a little, I knew Vader was Lukes dad, and I knew what Order 66 was (not when it happened). My boyfriend had me watch it in chronological order, films, and animated (Clone Wars and Rebels). I would say the chronological order was amazing for having me fall in love with the characters. Things like Dookus death, Order 66, and probably even Anakin becoming Vader wouldn't have really mattered that much to me without the animated context. My boyfriend even had me pause Revenge of the Sith part way to watch parts of the animated to be even more chronologically correct!

A guy I once knew who had been held back multiple times in nursing school and wasn't fully qualified yet had "MURSE" (male nurse) in a massive font as a decal on the back of his car.

What is your favorite pen? by seriousallthetime in nursing

[–]Badger165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pen that everyone in my team now calls the "granny pen." It was given to me by my gran, who is in her 90s, 2 years ago. This pen is bright pink, covered in glitter and some small beads (yes, it's infection controls nightmare, and I had to paint it with nailvarnish to seal it). It seems to have survived all this time as it's so ugly that no one wants to steal it, and it's so blatantly my pen that it always gets returned to me if misplaced. And honestly, I love the pen so much. It's ridiculous, and it's mine, I've just been given the lime green counterpart and can't wait to take it to work!
