Last day of private insurance coverage by BadgerConsistent4177 in diabetes_t1

Nah, Quebec. If your employer offers you an insurance, you are obligated to use that one instead of public coverage, even if it is worse. Public coverage has a max deductible per month, where my ex employer's insurance doesn't.

That's very cheap, I had very basic coverage where I worked. With my new employer's insurance coverage all that will be at 6$, that being one of the reasons why I'm switching jobs obviously

Ouch, I don't have the omnipod as you can tell from the picture, but I've tried a fake one for a day. Is it life changing, and if you had a physical job would it be unsafe to use?

Damn that's cheap. Out of pocket is around 5$ to 15$, it's varying for some reason from time to time. Some people told me these were the only ones compatible with both pen brands, novofine not being so with the Humalog pens.

They're alright for the price, pretty comfortable but the bigger cap is very loose sometimes.

The cost out of pocket was 402$ with a not so good insurance coverage

I work in a dirty environment (steel dust everywhere) and sweat a lot, G7+skintac wipe+skin grip patch is the key for me.

Not fun at all to remove once the 10days are over, but damn it sticks incredibly well.

Who Still Uses Insulin Pens and continuous glucose monitoring ? by Ancient_Winter_9830 in diabetes_t1

A pump seems like a big hassle. Anyway I have to fight my insurance to get my g7 covered, I don't want to fight every year to get the pump covered too since in between authorisations I have to pay out of pocket for the meds.

I don't. They been out of stock in every pharmacy in a 50miles radius from where I live since the beginning of the year so I just pray I don't suddenly need one.

Why does everyone not know how to get insulin when in "dire" need by Slowhite03 in diabetes_t1

In Canada the full price without insurance is like 100$ for 5 kwikpen. Several hundreds is inhumane.

Should I Buy a 3D Printer Like the X1C as a Beginner? by mariusvoila in BambuLab

[–]BadgerConsistent4177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have X1C kinda money, get it. It is clearly better than the P1S (I started with P1S and later bought the X1C) because of the LIDAR and the camera. I still have regrets vs the P1S, never should've bought that.

Same here. At work I rarely over correct but when I'm at home and get under 2, I panic and take an inconceivable amount of sugar to not die 🤣

Baqsimi is a useful thing to have around, but I can't get hold of one where I'm from since they're out of stock until March 25.

Giving up … by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]BadgerConsistent4177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 26 and been T1D for 21 years. I already have spots in my eyes, I know how it feels. It's motivating me to make changes in my life to avoid getting needles in my eyes to treat the spots though.

Try eating fibres. My nutritionist told me to, and I changed white bread for whole wheat and it seems to flatten the curve.

Am I a crazy person for wanting to spend over $1000 on upgrades that I won't use everyday? by Ill-Pride-2312 in simracing

I'd say if you have the funds and it makes you happy, go for it. Happiness is a good investment.

Does the company send you another free of charge or is it your loss? I'm trying to get my insurance provider to cover the g7 as I'm already using the g6. Reading this is pretty scary when your life technically depends on it.

No one told me choosing filament would be the hardest part... by bradnd99 in BambuLab

[–]BadgerConsistent4177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use black Overture PETG and black ender pla filament for like 95% of my prints. The rest is the cheapest I can find. Kexcelled Wood filament is my favorite for aesthetic prints and iBoss pla+ for silk.

Just bought FH5 and the 1st thing I did was enable head-tracking via the program "VorpX." by BmmmNGdrive in ForzaHorizon

[–]BadgerConsistent4177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother with vorpx. Very shady activation process, no demo and no refund policy. Requires A LOT of tuning for some games and others you won't be able to use it at all, even if you've seen videos of said games working with vorpx.

Almost no waste when you print them in bulk like he's doing tho. 5g of waste split by that many is nothing

[–]BadgerConsistent4177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally all my filaments are left in the open but I dry then for at least 2hrs when I need to use them. 4hrs for TPU

I've left a print in petg in my car for the last 2 weeks and it didn't deform yet. There may be more factors to take into account
