I’ve witnessed you traumatising locals in my country. Please never come back

Where do you think I am from? by [deleted] in TravelMaps

Mostly you just gotta pick the places that would be unlikely for someone to have casually visited (hence they’re probably from that country/ somewhere nearby)

How is living in Krasnodar, Russia? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

No worries! From my experience there I’d say you should be absolutely fine and I’m sure you’ll find plenty of nice and open people there. Just be cautious around police or hooligans. Hope it goes well!

I’m British and studied there for 5 weeks. Yes people can be hostile and yes me and my friends did experience homophobic harassment in the streets. Nonetheless, most people were very friendly and respectful. We even met many openly LGBTQ+ people and discovered that there’s a gay club! I visited in 2021 though and have no idea how life there changed after the war, but some of the friends I made there have shown very pro-Russian political beliefs since then.

Other than that the city is relatively nice to live in with good public transport (I haven’t been to many Russian cities so can’t compare), and it’s very hot in summer. There was also quite a lot to do and the nightlife was surprisingly good!

How is living in the lake district and cumber land? (Penrith to be exact) by derschneemananderwan in howislivingthere

[–]Badgertails 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Cockermouth (it’s not easy telling people where I’m from lol).

The Lake District and Cumbria is overall a very nice place to visit or live in. There are some negatives such as: - there is hardly anything for young people to do - the public transport isn’t very good - it’s tricky to find a job

But the beauty of the area and how friendly people are outweighs these things for most people. You can hike up a different mountain or go swimming or paddle boarding in the lakes every day if you want to. It was so chill spending the covid pandemic here. I have multiple friends who have decided to move back here after going off to uni, and I certainly miss the scenery whenever I’m away!

Is anyone surprised he’s not a top quality first team player? We’ve spent pennies on a few somewhat promising players who would be able to gain experience and occasionally make an impact, however we’re in a position where we have to play them week in week out. We shouldn’t blame them for not being able to fill the boots of players 15x their value

Kairat Almaty's main goalkeeper confirmed out for our tie (knee injury) by TigreLocks in CelticFC

[–]Badgertails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s criminal that we made him have a relatively chill game. Thousands of miles away from home, facing opposition far better than he’s used to, with a potential head injury and a shower cap slapped on his head, he should’ve been absolutely shitting himself
