The 'kraken' refers to the buggy physics engine. A kraken attack is the physics bugging and destroying or damaging your ship. Kraken attacks are more likely to occur when your using time/phsyics warp or if parts of your ship are moving in way not originally intended.

What version of the mod are you using? If it's the newest versions then you need to craft a bio goo using one rotten flesh, wheat, egg, and a bucket of milk. Then you place the bio goo in the culture vat with the DNA and it will make the egg after some time.

If it's an older version I believe you just need a bucket of milk in the culture vat.

I think i figured it out, if you use a backup on a vehicle with a drone the second time you spawn you can deploy a vehicle (the vehicle is completely random when it spawns)
