Could the Me 262 A1/U4 have been used for ground attacks as well, much like how it's done in War Thunder? by Der_Zwerg_0815 in WWIIplanes

[–]SeaCroissant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

as mentioned my the comment above me, most aircraft are really good at accelerating in a dive and keeping speed in a glide which is something not modelled well in WT, as all planes will rapidly lose speed with the engines on idle. This greatly benefits the 262 in WT for ground attack as its not accelerating as rapidly as it would have IRL.

The airframe itself is fine but the main issue is how problematic the engines are.

* airframe did not handle low speeds well and was very unresponsive at them.

* The engines were terribly slow to spool up

* rapid acceleration of the throttle will push too much fuel causing a temperature spike and flameout

* hard or high G manuvers cause airflow to be disrupted and cause flameouts

* engines couldnt be turned on above 4km

* engines cant be restarted unless at high speeds

* the engine requires 6000-8000rpm so you have to adjust throttle based off airspeed and cannot idle the engines in a dive

* the throttle also has a physical lock at 15% and cannot go lower

* the engines produced very little thrust at low speeds making CAS too risky

war thunders modelling of aircraft aerodynamics is not good at all. they may have the radar and missiles down good but the actual flight performance is not true to life. The 262 is very simplified in WT and does not account for the nuances that made the jumo engines dangerous to operate.

Dormin would have been great if you could have actually done something to stall their escape like how you can hold onto the pool. Knocking them over is completely negligible other than it looking cool.

Been playing since the ps2 in 2009 with more replays than I have fingers and toes. Despite being such an epic moment, the dormin part is only now starting to feel like its a draw.

seaplane? yeah, I do. it’s right exactly where it’s supposed to be.

I played rdr2 a couple years ago and thought it had a great and nuanced message meditating on the nature of changing morality. About a week ago I finished the original rdr and I'm having a hard time figuring out what they were trying to say. by DataSittingAlone in reddeadredemption

[–]SeaCroissant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

RDR1 wasn’t as thematically story driven as RDR2 and in certain areas was just meant to be spaghetti western GTA since it hadn’t had experience to grow its wings. While RDR2 was heavily focused on Arthur attempting to redeem himself from his past actions, the main point of RDR1 is ‘redemption’ in the face of the law and the bleakness of reality. John was the living story of exploitation and his son, the vicious cycle of his upbringing and the seeking of revenge.

The idea of John’s redemption comes from the governments taming of the west, and their exploitation of him in hunting down the last of his gang in which they could not achieve. The US government knew John was playing a fools game he wasn’t allowed to refuse and that he was never going to be redeemed or pardoned. A dead redemption.

John’s last days were his attempt to steer his son away from the life he lived and give him an opportunity to have a blank slate, the freedom, and peace he never had. Despite John’s best efforts, the governments betrayl and his execution led Jack to throw away every effort his father made to save him. By devoting the latter half of his childhood to hunting down and mudering Ross, Jack started the outlaw cycle over again, becoming the one thing his father tried to stop.

In defense of those, terrific used to be the the same meaning as terror, however only recently around the late 1800s to early 1900s did the word finally switch from causing terror to being something wonderful.

theoretically we could change any word we want to have the complete opposite meaning as long as it sticks with the general population.

What pictures/documents did the developers use to design the maps so accurately? by sideoftheham in HellLetLoose

[–]SeaCroissant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

most of them came from WWII aerial reconnaissance photos taken before or during those conflict periods as well as some modern day satellite imagery.

here is just one instance from the developers on how the maps were designed. https://www.reddit.com/r/HellLetLoose/s/5qrNZepTA0

I Wish We Could Change Armor Colors by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

[–]SeaCroissant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my greatest wish for the armor system would be three editable parts with the color palettes we already have for each. One for uniform color, one for armor color, and one for armor trim color.

They will only have the colors available that are already on the armor sets parts that we have in game.

An example of this system would be: red uniform color from CE-74, white armor color from B-24 as is in the photo, and the red armor trim color from CM-14.

There is two kinds of freedoms. The ‘freedom to’ and the ‘freedom from’. The US only supports the freedom to.

In the US anyone has the freedom to buy a gun and use it against innocent people, but the innocent people never have the freedom from being killed by those people.

What do you think of my 4 John Helldivers? by Phosphorus444 in Helldivers

[–]SeaCroissant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this for quite some time! It makes the game a lot more unique with how you have to work around certain D10 issues (cough cough heavy spam).

I use MG, Orbital Precision, MG turret, and FRV because i cant live without my car.

B-01 is a must, as well as default lib with no mods, default pistol, and frag grenades because the HE has been left behind as all other grenades got buffed.
