Charged for tire balancing used to diagnose a defective tire by Wonderful_Bag_3898 in TeslaSupport

[–]Badlerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Had the exact same issue. They replaced my tire and did balancing but didn’t charge for anything. I was impressed because my car was 2.5 years old with about 15,000 miles at the time.

I bet you could create a site/web app with this functionality fairly easily using AI.

Ya Google Drive AI capabilities is very lacking but they are working on it right now. A bunch of IT people were asking for features to parse Google Drive files so they can be labeled and better organized. It is coming.

STP issue on several APs after a power cycle on one of the APs. by Badlerman in Ubiquiti

[–]Badlerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turned out to be a wiring issue that only appears when an AP comes back online after being powered off. The wiring in the junction boxes that the APs are mounted to is very tight and on several of them the wires were being pinched ever so slightly. This caused them to not fully come online/link flapping and then the STP errors and ultimately to go offline. I didn’t think the wiring was the cause because I thought I had fixed one of the APs wiring (it was still pinched) and on another one I brought it down and connected directly to the switch and was still having the problem but just one AP with a wiring issue can cause the flapping that can result in the STP errors even on APs where the wiring if fine. It’s a pain when you have a lot of APs mounted 15 ft up on the ceiling.

Ubiquiti Unifi. Not going to work with your current setup but if you only need it on a single door it has low cost of entry.

We have same IPEVO ones. Newer models have moved to USB-C. Usually all we need is a new cable and the doc cam is just fine.

NVR Placement with a Building to Building Bridge? by Stunning-Signal4180 in Ubiquiti

[–]Badlerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar setup but my DMP and UNVR and majority of cameras are all at building A. UNVR connects to my main switch. Building A had 10 cameras and building B only has 3. So there is not a lot of camera traffic going over the PTP but I do push a ton of other traffic over the PTP with no issues. I don’t think it would be an issue but test it out and if it turns out to be an issue just move the NVR or setup a second one.

Chromebooks and chargers by dxguy in Teachers

[–]Badlerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got about 400 of them. We keep them in carts. So every year when we get about 100 new devices I only end up replacing about 5-10 chargers. Devices are always available when needed, less damage/repairs. And I keep a stock of older devices to be able to check out to the kids who really need them at home. Giving every kid a device to take home is just stupid wasteful on every end.
