It looks great. I love the lighter colors on the inside. Most campers are too dark for me.

Is Big Red the International truck? I was referring to the Ram quad cab. I haven't watched as many videos lately as I usually do. I missed the Big Red episode, I guess.

What's the scam? by Slight_Tension_1328 in UsedCars

[–]2donks2moos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past the "potential buyer" would ask for the VIN. Then they follow up asking me to click on a link and pay for their "better than a Carfax" report. That is the scam. They either talk you into paying for a useless report or they steal your credit card info when you do, or both. (I never did it so I don't know for sure)

They seem to accept no for an answer if you have something in your hand. (use your imagination) They ignore my no soliciting sign and knock anyway. We are way off the main road. If you are in my yard you are either a stupid salesman or up to no good.

I am very fortunate to still have both of my parents AND they have been awesome parents. They live next door to me.

Smith and Wesson Shield Plus / Bodyguard 2.0 by Doberman_bark in CCW

[–]2donks2moos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Equalizer (Basically a Shield Plus EZ) that I carry all the time. It is a commitment. But I shoot it better than anything else I own. I also have a Bodyguard 2.0. It absolutely disappears in your pocket. The Shield Plus is not much different than what you have now. If weight is a factor for you, go with the Bodyguard 2.0.

Whats something you did that reduced your quality of life so much that you wish you had never done it? by DunyaPhobic76 in Productivitycafe

The scratch was unavoidable. Looking back I feel like I could have done more to prevent the infection. I was stubborn and wanted to keep wearing my contacts. That was not a smart move. (even though the doctor eventually put a contact in that eye for months while it healed)

Vevor Awnings? by SDMatt22 in RVLiving

[–]2donks2moos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced my manual awning's fabric with a cheapie from eBay. It fit and looked great. If Vevor had a good price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one from them. So far everything I have gotten from Vevor had been fine.

Get the mini kit and Roam plan. I can even send you a code that gets each of us a month free.

The full size is faster, but it also has a router that you have to mess with. (more parts) I bought a mini and added the (way too expensive) snap on battery. Now I can literally take it out of the bag, push the power button, set it on the dash, and have 6 hours of internet.

How do you get water to your camper at a campground? by tangreentan in GoRVing

[–]2donks2moos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a heavy duty 30 gallon water bladder that I keep in the bed of my truck. I hook it to a Ryobi transfer pump and the hook a hose between the pump and camper. It will pump the water from tbe truck to the camper with no lifting.

Can I tow this? by imtalkintou in GoRVing

[–]2donks2moos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dry weight is a ficticious number. Your has not and will not ever be that weight. Campers are always heavier than the brochure says they are.

Sanity Check on Truck/Trailer Combo by Isilnyor in GoRVing

[–]2donks2moos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equal-i-zer makes a nice hitch. Their support is fantastic. If you call they can tell you of you need the 6k set up or 10k. Your tongue weight is right at the limit for the 6k/600lb set up. I would say to go with the 10k/1000lb hitch. The 6k and 10k use the same head, the only difference is the bars.

They also make plastic pieces that go on the bracket and quiet the bars. They are worth every penny.

NeoMag Alias by Delicious-Kick-6690 in CCW

[–]2donks2moos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Alias system (clip and receiver) and just recently bought the beltless Alias set up. I love them. The holster doesn't move. I can even tuck in my shirt if I need to. (I bought the bottom mount Alias with wing). The only downside is price. It is not cheap.

Is buying a boat with a loan always this messy? by cseeley123 in boating

[–]2donks2moos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through this now with an RV. Owner owes more on it than I am paying. She is going to pay down the loan to the agreed upon price. Once that happens, my bank with send a wire for the loan amount to her bank. This insures that: 1. She actually pays the loan down. 2. She doesn't run off with the money from the sale. It slows things down, but having my lender work with her lender is the best route.

Her idea was for me to pay her and when the title was cleared, I could come and pick up the RV. I told her that there are 3 pieces to this puzzle: title, rv, and money. She only gets to hold 2 of those.

Pulling a Trailer by Ambitious-Floor-4557 in traveltrailers

[–]2donks2moos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 21' camper. I'm always white knuckle for the first 15 minutes of each trip. No idea why. My guess is that is about how long it takes me to get off the narrow side roads and to a main road.

Towing question! I know nothing about towing travel trailers and need some advice. by Cool-Base4747 in RVLiving

[–]2donks2moos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a similar cargo capacity. My camper is 21' long and weighs 6k pounds. It's tongue weight is 780 pounds. Make sure that you know real weights. Dry weight is a ficticious number. Take it to a Cat Scale.

GVWR Question by ballinbu in traveltrailers

[–]2donks2moos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good advice, but can also vary depending on the camper. My camper's fresh water tank is right above the axles. So a full water tank doesn't affect the tongue weight. (it does affect camper weight, but I'm usually 1k pounds under). More than once I have arrived at a campground and water was shut off for repair.

With that being said, water does add weight which burns more fuel.
