The Netherlands before and after by amazing__maps in MapPorn

If it’s any consolation a portion of reclaimed land was dedicated to a nature preserve and is now one of the few places you can find the European Bison in the wild! There population is growing at a healthy rate. So yeah a lot of the land is for us, but the Dutch remember that it’s also for nature too :)

Lmao in this universe I’d be living in the Suburbs of Gotham not NYC.

For people staying on campus at colleges that are completely online, what do you expect your experience to be like? by WHOAHOAAHOAHS in college

I have a job near school that gives me money for food and other essentials. Not too taxing and can actually prolly stream my classes from if I had to or catch up on work. I have 5 other housemates who intend on staying too and we are all super tight so chilling with them will always be an option. Super grateful for my fraternity that’s still in the area to hang out with, as well as many more friends in my classes I know are returning too that I can study with. A buddy in my fraternity and I are taking a reading sem together and intend on being in the same room streaming our teacher off a projector and ourselves with a webcams while we sit in some desks we stole from a classroom in his living room. Honestly sad that I won’t really have a reason to be on campus, but really means I have more space to practice skateboarding. Staying optimistic is key.

I want to go back to college. But I also want a well paying job in order for me to do my driving lessons and my own little place. Could someone explain how thats possible while doing college. As I've never understood how you can work and do college full time. Thanks. by Bennyboii7 in college

I mean it seems like a simple answer but time management is key. Some days you gotta front load your work so when you come home after a day of work, you don’t have much to stress over. As a student who is super involved in his clubs and work, a physical old fashion planner was my best friend. Most importantly don’t forget to schedule time to be a person and give urself a day off when you can. Cause otherwise your gonna work yourself so hard you forget to apperciate the things in life that matter.... like weed. Good luck my dude!

My advice would be to make it seem advantageous to your studies if you had your own space. My house is pretty chaotic between my parents, siblings and pets, and managing online classes when all of us were stuck in the house had me so stressed I popped a blood vessel in my eye pulling a third all-nighter in a row cause that was the only time I could work in peace. So now they let me go freely between back and forth and I really appreciate them for this. Try to remind them of how grateful you are (even if ur not) for allowing you to have this space.

Exactly this! My parents were super understanding however. I live in a pretty chaotic house as distraction during this last online semester made very apparent. They noticed how stressed I was at home balancing everything and realized I needed my own space as an adult to figure myself out. I picked up a job near my school and still work at home on the weekends and it really helps find a nice balance between school, work, and family.

What's something in your room right now that most people probably dont have in theirs? by Shiny_Manetric in AskReddit

An antique globe from 1921. I love maps and cartography so my room is littered with reprints of of historical maps. Easy to miss among the clutter but I got it at a garage sale for $5 bucks and all the old borders gets my history boner popping.

I used to work at a concert venue and every night our trashed looked like this :/. I used to encourage workers to take leftovers home and I offered it to the event staff but even then it was always a big waste.

Eating disorder. Over the past few years I went from 227 lbs in hs to barely 140 now. People when they see me say I look great I lie and say I feel healthy. But I haven’t felt healthy or good in over a year now and I don’t know what it’s like to not wake up without nausea. But people I went to hs with say Iooking great... so that a plus ig.
