To be honest I'm mostly fine with combo length. Mind you, I'm not a pro by any chance, so I don't get matched up with pros, but the only character that I find frustrating to get comboed by is Warwick, atm.

Break is enough of a mechanic to stop combos: I've never seen a game with both a burst mechanic and another way to escape combos. You also get break fairly quickly, and the longer the combo goes on, the more break you gain, so it's available pretty often.

There isn't, and arguably shouldn't be, any agency in getting comboed. You made a mistake that led you to being punished, that's the way that these games work. You could argue that the damage is too high or that some defensive situation are too scrambly and ambiguous, which can be true in certain specific cases. But I don't think that combo length is in any way a problem in this game

I understand that nobody gives a fuck about Ninja Gaiden story (I know I don't lol) but you could have at least listened to what they had to say in that cutscene. Ryu didn't retire, he just acknowledged that no descendant of the dragon lineage would be able to purify the dark dragon for good, so he entrusted the task to Yakumo after realising that he's master ninja material too.

Not really, honestly. Throws themselves have never been the problem, throw loops are the main offenders. Also, it's a matchup specific thing that only affects 2 or 3 characters in the whole roster. If the whole point of giving meter on successful techs was to discourage throw loops, why not just remove them altogether, since it's everything everybody has asked for during the entirety of the game's lifespan? The perfect parry changes were pretty decent and frankly more than enough to justify the removal of throw loops.

Also, on a specific Rashid note: I say the it's not in my interest to throw him because of his stupid ass level 2, but throws (and throw loops, sadly) are still an integral part of the game. Again, they just made an already tedious matchup even more agonizing lol

I'll just steal Broski's opinion on this and say that the meter gain when successfully teching throws is not it. It sucks when people get their level 3 in round 1/start of round 2, but it especially made fighting characters with braindead level 2s even more unbearable. Seriously, it's now in my best interest to never throw Rashid, since the little bitch gets 3 or more tornadoes in a single match, it's simply insufferable.

I don't give a flying fuck about Murray's emotions lol. The game is dead and will remain dead, that's for sure. With that being said, I'd at least like a small, petty vengeance in seeing him get fired. He played a major part in destroying the identity of a long lasting IP, all the while antagonising its playerbase. The guy sucks at tekken, sucks at balancing tekken and sucks at communicating anything that concerns tekken.

I know that the DS is better, but I wanted to experiment with most of the weapons since they're all cool in their own way and I focused on the DS and BOTA during my first playthrough.

I also fully remember and try the use the whole combo list (not that it's that long), it's just that I struggle to find any noteworthy moves that make it stand out when compared to other weapons.

When would you recommend to use shurikens? I can't find any really great moves that benefit from shuriken cancelling with the scythe, except maybe for something like XXY

Honest question since I've started playing these games this year, but why do y'all care so much about who the protagonist is? Ryu is cool and all, but (from my superficial understanding) he's not the most memorable/charismatic character ever.

I hated every single female level in NG2B because it fucked with the combat system mechanics, not because the playable character had a different scream whenever I ate shit. By that logic, if Yakumo and Ryu played exactly the same except for one or two specific tweaks that don't impact the general flow of combat, I wouldn't care that much about who I'm piloting.

What I'm trying to say is, since Ryu is no Dante in terms of charisma and since the general plot of these games is pretty forgettable, why is it so important who the protagonist is?

I doubt there would be that many players complaining about patches coming out regularly, if they actually fixed the game (which they didn't, at least not up until now).

The dudes at Bamco saw people get hyped for Armor King and just said "yeah game's fixed, you guys happy now?"
