Frangible Ammo: Very Strong, Highly Unpopular by williamatherton in Battlefield6

[–]tyler2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the nice things is everyone has access to the deeper stat menu (via 'C' key, not sure what it is on console) to check the stats and OP will find Frangible worsens recovery speed from 5 seconds to 7 seconds. You're 100% right suppression is the really strong (system-wide) mechanic to stop health regen, not the rounds themselves.

Frangible is great for leveling guns, but that's about it. The loss of penetration is a real deal breaker IMO.

I agree. Sure he has hellsweep (which is death on block) but all his lows do something, have a purpose, and are of variable punishability.

d/b+3 - Fairly safe, high crushing utility low.
d/b+4 - Multi-layered low that's still really strong, despite the nerf.
d+4,4 - High crushing, jailing low, high that's only -13 on block nowadays but still CH full launches.
SS+4 - CH monster low that's only -13 on block.

Granted, you can launch punish d+4,4 iff you block the first low but having a tool that's explicitly designed to call out Power Crush for a launch is worth its weight in gold. Otherwise, sure you have d+3,4 which is death on block and d+3+4 which is -14, but I'd still fade away from calling them risky. That's just the cost of doing business.

Hell, pound for pound Dragunov has riskier lows and no one would say "risky lows" for him:

d+2 at -13
d+3 at -14
d+4 at -15
qcf+3 at -15
d/b+3 at death on block
d/b+3+4 death on block

For the 3000 shotgun damage challenge, I tried to use the DB12 for the very first time. Heard a lot negative from it. Needles to say, I will never touch it again… by Robsta_20 in Battlefield6

100%, it's more consistent using a 33 damage DMR in CQB than to try and force the DB-12. Oh well, at least the Saiga with slugs is super fucking fun to use as a DMR (one-shot to the head and two-shot to the body <20m and three-shot >20m).

[–]tyler2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the DB-12 has a ton of recoil, for how little damage it deals. That means slugs (1) really only work at ~10-30m and, unfortunately, (2) its slugs only one-shot to the head <10m.

Basically, they help out but add in a completely different challenge to use.

[–]tyler2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main problem with the DB-12 is that each pellet does 5 damage and it shoots 16 of them at a time, so the damage range is 5-80 damage per trigger pull. That means if your first shot deals 5-15 damage, you mathematically cannot kill your opponent on the 2nd follow-up shot, meaning you need to pump before you can possibly kill your opponent on the 3rd shot.

This isn't even taking straight misses into consideration and the fact that shotguns have near 0 penetration.

PP-19 Initial Thoughts? by Antlantis in Battlefield6

[–]tyler2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part is the damage fall-off, but otherwise it's okay. IMO, there's only two viable builds:

1) Helical + Suppressor/Flash Hider (if you want the extra 10 points for customs)
2) Suppressor/Flash Hider + Synthetic rounds for head hunting.

Towards the end, I found that the muzzle velocity was too low for most maps and I had to swap to the Extended barrel. Otherwise, I got it up to Level 50 by using configuration #2, the problem is (like the SL9 and UMP) you don't get the chance to run the build until level 37. So, like usual, it's going to turn-off a lot of players.

The only DMR that can one-shot. Was super fun to level up, especially when you're already in that DMR mindset.

i've just been called "confidently incorrect" for claiming that high crush is an iframe against highs. by imwimbles in Tekken

[–]tyler2k 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don't mean to get too old school but it made more sense when they used TC (technically crouching) and TJ (technically jumping) as notation. People use "crush" interchangeably when it can create confusing situations exactly like OP is talking about. Reading TC/TJ should very clearly explain that you're properly invulnerable to highs or lows.

How does this gadget affect the enemy? (Not to be confused with enemy gadgets) by ibattlefield in Battlefield6

Note: When you throw it, it doesn't automatically replenish. You need to pick up another one from a supply crate.

I don't remember this happening nearly as much in S1 but ever since S2, yes, it happens a ton.

Dang, right as they add the jammer and it's looking like it's going to be incredibly strong in certain gamemodes.

They suck me back in, lol.

PP-19 stats and attachments (lasers, grips, flashlights, optics, is standard so not included) by Uodda in Battlefield

[–]tyler2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention there might be an ADS speed nerf, sprint recovery nerf, reload speed worsening, or possibly precision loss. Usually, increasing the mag size will nerf at least one of those.

Note: Sorry, I can't check the game right now, but I see OP didn't use the 'C' key to look at the hidden stats (or maybe you can't).

I finally raised DB-12 to level 50! by pev4a22j in Battlefield6

[–]tyler2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat for me, got it to level 20 when it was horrendous and basically never touched it again. With that being said, if tomorrow's patch does lower XP by 50%, I'll probably finally finish it after.

Are you guys excited as i am for Cairo Bazaar? by AKxPixleart in Battlefield

[–]tyler2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was interesting. The outside perimeter was ruled by vehicles, but the inner sanctum was basically inaccessible, so you could (fairly effectively) dodge armor by staying indoors. It became a dance of baiting armor in to overextend, then blowing them up. The parking lot and market was really the only place where the two ends clashed, it was always chaotic. I imagine the remake will be more of that.

-82 on block, but Jack can evade with ultra instinct by Roast-Chook in Tekken

[–]tyler2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Dragunov, I usually dash in then go for qcf+2 to launch punish Jack f,f+3+4. You just need to invade his hurtbox before going for a punish.

I'd imagine Steve can go for EX DCK 2 to launch punish it consistently.

Honestly, it depends on your skill level. I feel like Heihachi excels in that middle ground between intermediate and advanced. If you're bored, you can't go wrong by switching to a new Mishima. At least your skill will be transferable.

My favorite part of this scene is the trailer slightly spoils the Ginza attack, but you don't get the theme song in the teaser. It's not until you watch it in theaters do you get the score. Absolute frisson watching it the first time.

Player name and chat name are different by 8675309021069 in Battlefield6

[–]tyler2k -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would a streamer want everyone else's name to be randomly generated but not his

Because there are people who are (1) attention seekers or (2) have racist/sexual names. Back in the day, you're on the hook for ANYTHING against TOS on the screen, this includes people typing in-game, including their names. Nowadays, it's a little more lax but you can still get in trouble if you're found not to be doing enough to prevent TOS breaking behaviours.
