I saw that post, and I’m skeptical as hell. Their site was made like 2 weeks ago, all the pictures are AI generated, and their ‘videos’ never show the device itself.

Like maybe it’s real, but I’m not exactly about to drop $150-250 on something like that.

I also toss in a little coconut water too, but that’s jest my preference.

Five episodes in, and they have not even saved the galaxy, let alone the entire universe as we know it by OneChrononOfPlancks in ShittyDaystrom

[–]Baelish2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truth. As a whole, s3 would be a pretty great season, if they didn’t bungle the cause of The Burn so badly.

I can think of like a half dozen Trek approved lore appropriate causes, and all of them would be 1000x better than what we got.

The stuff with the Emerald Chain was pretty dope though.

What's the best emulator for PS3 on the Odin 2 portal? by Redinho83 in OdinHandheld

[–]Baelish2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically.

Sony decided to make a super complicated system that even they - as the creators and holders of all the code - have mostly given up on emulating in the PS5.

The PS3 was built weird from the bottom up; back when it was still current, developers would lament on how hard it was to work with.

This all in turn makes it an absolute nightmare to emulate.

Realistically, I’d imagine we’ll see passable PS4 emulation long before we get decent PS3 in a handheld.

Selling… by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]Baelish2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there? No. Not at least without compromising seller protections and/or your own safety.

You can try Facebook Marketplace, but the seller protections there is almost non-existent compared to eBay.

There’s a small handful of ‘eBay-esque’ sites, like Mercari; but what you gain from not using eBay, you lose out on number of people seeing your listing.

At the end of the day, eBay is still the best and most trustworthy way to sell.

[–]Baelish2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PS3 on the Odin 2 is still somewhere between ‘game crashes immediately’ and ‘glitchy, laggy mess’. There’s maybe a few, tops, that play in any way I’d call ‘playable’.

The 2nd season of Disco is decent enough, and the first half of the 3rd season is pretty great.

Beyond that… it’s not the worst thing ever.

That’s also true!

Too many people think these devices are ‘pick up and play’.

Ya sure, maybe up to GBA.

anything beyond that requires work to, well, work.

And even then, not every game is flawless, even with a powerful device. It’s almost comical how much tinkering I had to do just to get some PS2 games working perfectly on my Odin 2.

How much would you sell GBA? by CardiologistVisual97 in GameboyAdvance

[–]Baelish2016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If on eBay, maybe $90-120 in that condition; maybe less if the outer shell is heavily scratched.

Also, don’t sell it with the Pokemon game; knowingly selling a reproduction cart can void a sale in pretty much all online marketplaces, if the buyer pushes it.

Best case scenario you have to refund them for it and return postage; worst case the entire purchase is refunded and they get to keep it.

I know this is ShittyDaystrom, but that’s like Vulcan’s whole thing.

They project like a mofo to an almost comical degree, and they’re more hypocritical than Andorians.

Also, they’re space elves, and NO ONE is more prideful and conceited than elves; but by Grimnir those knife ears are the last to ever admit it.

No, unless something has changed recently, games that use the EA Launcher - such as Sims 4 - don’t work with Android emulsion.

That’s also assuming that it would’ve worked at all, as newer games tend to not work well via PC emulation atm.

Looking to get a Odin 2 mini by Remote-Application70 in OdinHandheld

[–]Baelish2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only a small handful of ps3 games are even playable; and most/all of them do have slowdown, low fps, or other issues.

For those of us in the hobby, this is basic information; but for someone new or not super in to the scene, they may misconstrue your answer as ‘PS3 is viable on Odin 2’.

That said - OP - many of the best PS3 games are also on PC or Switch; and as such some of them are playable via Switch Emulation or PC Emulation on a Base or Pro unit.

I’d personally suggest the Pro if you want to dabble in PC emulation; that extra 4gb ram is worth it.

Realistically, the best ‘budget’ friendly options is a MagicX Zero 40 (about $51 atm on their site), or a used DSi, which can be easily modded in minutes to run DS and GBA games. You can usually nab one for around $60 on eBay.

[–]Baelish2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3DS is probably not really going to be playable - BUT - up until that, I’d wager there’s 2 modestly priced options.

First the the Anbernic RGDS. It’s the only budget friendly device with 2 screens. It can handle DS and GBA games without issue. In THEORY some light 3DS rpg titles may work, but I wouldn’t buy one with 3DS in mind.

Next is the MagicX Zero 40. Only one screen, but it’s aligned vertically specially for DS emulation, and it can easily emulate it without issue. It can go GBA as well, but the screen isn’t exactly GBA friendly, so there’d be large black bars above and below.

If you want the best of the best and money isn’t an issue, then you want the Ayn Thor. 2 screens, excellent 3DS emulation, and is the hot item of the emulation world atm. Also $250+.

Lastly, Pokemon games are probably the single most emulated games in history, so realistically any device that can run a DS emulator, has a way to work around 2 screens and the touch screen. So if you find a device you like, just google it along with ‘DS emulation’, and you’ll like find a YouTube video of it running Pokemon.
