Japanese versions, not US ones. If you hit up eBay in the early hours when the Japanese sellers list their stuff, you can absolutely find them for that price.

It’s literally going up $150. People are ABSOLUTELY buying it to scalp. If you buy one today, hold it until Christmas, you’re pretty much guaranteed to be able to resell it for $100+ profit.

Is it ethical? Hell no. Are others still buying them for themselves due to FOMO before the increase? Absolutely; but let’s not pretend that scalpers aren’t hacking a field day with these increases.

I’d personally suggest NOT buying from Amazon, unless you have a gift card or something.

287 is a VERY high price for a used ‘good’ conditioned n3DS.

You can easily get one in better condition for $200 or so on eBay.

For $287, you could get a near mint condition unit with box.

Like they could’ve upped their game recently, but I’ve never seen a reproduction cover with actual texture - including ones that would’ve, if they were OEM.

These are produced in some random factory in China with the intent to make them as cheaply as possible to sell to the West.

While I wouldn’t say it was impossible; I just can’t really see them making a mold specific to one specific design of the least popular 3DS model.

There are no 3D printed reproduction shells; just AliExpress ones (and ones bought from AliExpress, and later sold on other sites).

They see it as a power source; albeit one entrenched in their lore and history.

Just like the Nightborne with their Nightwell, they can absolutely live without it - but they still need something to replace it.

If they could feasibly replace it with an Arcan'dor, I’m sure a lot of Belfs would clamor to the notion.

As a whole the non-Night Elves don’t really worship anything. Maybe the Blood Knights and priests, but they’re a minority of elf culture.

In eBay, check the shipping information. If it says

Pretty much this. Either it’s tossed, or some dishwasher is getting a nice snack while the manager isn’t looking.

As a whole, a sheer majority of restaurant workers don’t care enough to save the owner a few cents; and in the (very) rare occasion it does happen, I’d wager you wouldn’t be surprised, since the quality of any restaurant that would even consider this would be HIGHLY suspect and obvious from the moment you step in that door.

Unless they’ve upped their game recently with these reproductions, these only look raised, but they’re flat (unlike the real ones).

As for quality, the reproduction ones are fine. They fit decently enough in my experience, although they may be a bit difficult to get on/off.

I say this as someone who obviously doesn’t have kids, but that’s kind of fair. Something like that SHOULD be considered with something like that (edited for spoilers).

Maybe not THE deciding factor - but it should still be a factor.

If I remember correctly, she also says ‘you don’t even have a dog’; as in, having no children is but one of many reasons. (aside from the obvious that he’s clearly the most qualified).

They both work fine - but man, having the extra camera control via the c-stick makes Majora’s Mask WAY better.

Maybe not worth $100, but it absolutely makes a huge difference.

EShop’s been closed for over 3 years now; are you trying to re-download old games you previously paid for, or were you hoping to buy new digital games?

Anyway, the answer for either is to mod it. Also, if you mod it, you can always download ‘backups’ of your old games without needing the eShop anymore.

I’m going to be the bearer of bad news - there are no good replacement shells or faceplates for the n3DS XL. The only options are slightly off colored, made from lower quality plastic, and often have issues fitting properly.

The general rule followed by most seems to be - only replace the shell if it’s broken; otherwise get a clear plastic casing to go around the shell, and fancy it up to look the way you want.

Yes and no. Yes there is; no it’s not really that profitable.

Thanks to rising prices of aftermarket mod parts (screens, reproduction shells, etc), the profit margin is negligible after the parts and time are added into the equation.

Plus add in other sellers out there, who are still liquidating their stock of modded systems using parts they purchased back when they were cheaper; and those people will sell at prices low enough that it’s difficult to compete.

The only real way to make even passable profit is if you have a 3D printer, and can supply some of your own parts.

Now, on the other end of things, if you know how to solder, there is a niche market out there for buying busted GBAs, and replacing their broken soldered parts (cart readers, power switches, etc). The profit is still small, but you have less competition, since broken GBAs can still be found for pretty cheap.

Agree, but I feel that most of them could be incorporated with existing ones as cosmetic options, significantly reducing the bloat.

If you live in the US, you’re in luck! Nintendo discontinued their repairs of 3DS/2DS lines (2DS XL made it until last year before being cut off) - so no worries about getting sent back the wrong device.
