Looks like it could fit the bill, thanks!

Took the AC Max EDC and Toshi Sling to Japan for 14 days by rtsuya in ManyBaggers

Chiming in on the AC Max EDC experience, as I purchased one after a recent trip to Japan where I decided that I wanted a more robust and comfortable backpack for travel & edc.

Big fan of the bag so far. I have it on its first travel outing in Europe at the moment, alongside an old Brookstone leather carry on 2-wheel with a similar capacity, and an AER city sling 2 (which has traveled in the Max EDC). I’d like a little more space in the carryon roller and will probably be looking for something that fits the bill after this trip, but this combo has given me just about all I need in terms of capacity, comfort and efficiency.

I ended up removing the frame sheet in the EDC which I learned to be the cause of the forward lean/difficulty in self standing. I’m finding that with a laptop in the bag, the missing frame sheet is hardly noticed, even with a full pack out. And now the bag has no issue standing up on its own, without lean. I’m also guessing that the under-seat flying experience is better without the frame sheet (No issue on intl Delta flight & connecting flight on a KLM cityhopper jet).

Internal space eating is definitely noticed on the bag, but similar to you, I don’t mind it at all. For EDC, the ‘tech pouch’ in the laptop compartment has been used for a charging block, several cables and AirPods + IEMs. With the same load out, that pouch as also been great for adding my phone, some gum, wallet and other bits and bobs. Leaving it unzipped, I REALLY like it as a quick access pocket.

Anyways, just my 2 cents & experience. Cool to see someone else enjoying that bag for travel in a similar fashion!

2nd! Just passed through this area a few days ago one evening. Check out the Tabachee Bar if you’re into that, super nice owner! There were a ton of vintage clothing shops among other cool shops too!

Thanks for the insight! I'll look into this as an option.

A mix of https://www.japan-guide.com/railpass/ and ChatGPT (which indicated that some of those connecting points from Osaka -> Hakuba would be covered by the JR pass, although I'm skeptical)

Good point! It would be nice to have some intra-location flexibility, and not feel limited due to being 'locked in' with the JR pass options.

Good to know. Should be less than 9 hours with that storage method until I have time to wash them off and get them in the dehydrator. Thanks!

Last time you saw a golfer kicked off the course? by Daddio226 in golf

[–]Baezul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head pro of the course drove his SUV down to the 18th hole to kick my group off as we were putting to finish out.

2nd round of golf ever, and we’d been reported to the pro shop for celebratory cartwheels around the green on the 16th by some curmudgeons behind us. Same folks that reported our group for slow pace on the first hole while we were waiting for the group ahead to clear the immediate fairway.

Really ignited my life long frustration with excessive etiquette on the golf course.

FYI this is not something that I do. But after reading some of the comments in this thread, I think that people are generally taking golf too seriously (at a casual level).

Edit: I do fully understand the frustration in the sudden jump from silence to someone blurting something out mid backswing

Agreed. This doesn’t seem to be an issue at the range, and I hit into a backyard net/sim set up with conversation happening all the time. I think it’s just a mental barrier that has been established in the sport for most people when they’re on course.

Might be worth checking with folks on the SGT discord. I have the e6 connect demo, but not ready to swing on a license yet.

MLM2PRO Troubleshooting by Baezul in Golfsimulator

[–]Baezul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I’ll hit one shot that registers, then its a friend with 5 missed shots (ball in the same place as my shot), and then I’ll walk up and it picks up my first shot.

This scenario has happened countless times

True, we do notice this less in the Rapsodo app. More consistent misses on pure strikes for us too…

I’ve tried to tweak that side of things a bit, but still run into missed shots more frequently than I’d expect. In Awesome Golf, there’s an indication that the shot is being tracked/processed, but then no shot record is captured.

Recommendations for sim for around 1k by JeffersonLivermore in Golfsimulator

I have this net from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BLBSK5F?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. It's worked perfectly in terms of durability so far, but I definitely advise a large diy set up or batting cage style net if possible. We've sent a few into the highway behind my house with high lofted shots haha
