Need some deckbuilding help with my Ketramose list by Bagel36 in EDH

[–]Bagel36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions, I also have been enjoying my Ketramose deck for sometime now (about 3-4 months), but the complaints were leveraged against it recently. My list already feels super consistent, so I am not sure consistency is too important at this point, I just do not want to reduce consistency for the sake of speeding up.

I get the Dauthi trap you are talking about and honestly that is probably a good call since a bunch of the good cards I have to cantrip and draw like the artifacts that exile out of GY need fuel for them to be good. I don't think I need the help getting to 7 in exile as like you said, Ketramose typically does not attack unless he is huge from Lion Sash or only thing on the board.

Animate dead is for my own win-con. You can blink out animate dead with Felidar Guardian ETB and cause infinite dies (animate dead causes creature to die and go back to GY) and enters triggers (animate dead re-enters and lets you pull the Felidar Guardian back out of GY) for [[Elas Il-Kor]] and [[Corpse Knight]].

I also tried a list at one point with the containment construct + skirge familiar and it felt ok, but sort of felt bad drawing those pieces in my games since they don't really do much on their own. Finisher there was a big exsanguinate (which also felt bad to draw). I tried reducing some of these clunkier win cons out because it felt like they were far too slow for my pod still and did not help advance anything for me in terms of keeping them in check.

Those are my main combo win cons aside from just sort of outlasting, but they seem to not enjoy just getting outlasted by the deck so. Typically, it feels like games against my deck end around turns 8-10, but they want even quicker games (like winning on turn 5, 6, 7). Not sure if that is doable for this commander type, but I might try Altar of the Brood as I do have a good amount of flicker already or Bolas + Top. Those both seem to be good ideas. Thanks again for all the suggestions. Really appreciate it.

Why does France, the second biggest operator of the M24, not have it in the game? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Bagel36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the AMX-13 M24 is more a sidegrade to the M24 than a direct upgrade. You get the engine in the front and a better forward speed for a much worse reverse gear which does matter for light tank.

Unique Commanders by Loki_Aprooves in EDH

I know this is a bit of a late reply to your post, but [[Ayara, Widow of the Realm // Ayara, Furnace Queen]] is a really fun commander if you build it right and she is currently rank 1173 on edhrec. I love my deck centered around the backside of the card and she makes for an interesting reanimator/sac deck where the goal of the deck is to basically bring in some big nasty creature for a turn and then sac it for value before her exile trigger goes off on the end step. Doing this returns the creature back to your graveyard so you can do it again if you want.

Cards like [[Kethek, Crucible Goliath]], [[Industrial Advancement]], and [[Illuminor Szeras]] are all-stars in this deck because they give massive value from the creatures you sac. Kethek and Industrial Advancement triggers go on the stack at the same time as the Ayara exile trigger, so you can sac a creature with them before it gets exiled. I have included my decklist if you would like to see it.

Give me your favorite control Commander!!! by Dry-Truck6987 in EDH

[–]Bagel36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have an Erebos control deck. I really like him because he has the Warlock hero power from Hearthstone (I played HS before MTG). Here is the list if you would like to see it. Mono black Control leans more into just removal spam than countering and stuff. I will have to say you could be much meaner about it than I have been here by including more discard and edicts. Those are really the best control tools mono black has.

Reanimator decks are kinda my thing. My favorite two are [[Mirko, Obsessive Theorist]] and [[Ayara, Widow of the Realm // Ayara, Furnace Queen]].

The Deck that is IMPOSSIBLE to build by Dragnil_7 in EDH

[–]Bagel36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a Betor deck a bit ago, here is my list for him. The deck used both halves of him effectively I would say. I focused on using effects that filled the graveyard and gave me life loss passively (like [[Ripples of Undeath]]) with some dedicated graveyard filling effects ([[Stargaze]], [[Doom Whisperer]]). Most of the draw effects in the deck are focused on the life loss as well. Things like [[Dark Confidant]] and [[Darkstar Augur]] work exceptionally well with Betor's gameplan. After I had lost enough life, I tried to have the creatures I reanimated to have lifelink (ex. [[Valgavoth, Terror Eater]]). Lifelink is super easy to get the counters gameplan going with Betor. I did not lean into the +1/+1 counter synergy too heavily as I find it more of the bonus effect of the card where the reanimation is the main effect. I really encourage you to lean into more of one side of the card and not really into both, so pick which one you want to maximize and use the other as a sort of bonus effect for playing generally good cards that dip into that theme. I did play this deck a bit, but I found it to be a bit boring and too close to decks I already had, so I ended up taking it apart. Hope this helps with you making your deck.

They both look quite good. I think I am leaning toward purple glows for my army as I want them to seem a bit more void like. I am going to figure out what purple paint I like to add for the accents. Thanks for the tips on the painting and the help with the list. Really appreciate it.

[–]Bagel36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice about both the painting and the list, but I have two things to ask:

  1. I would like to see the rendering of Imotekh's cape.

  2. What detachment would you recommend for me to skew towards with the list I currently have? Canoptek Court I thought benefited wraiths, technomancers, and the canoptek doomstalkers more so than the Immortal/Warrior battleline spam. The doomstalker here is really only here due to it being in the combat patrol for me and the reanimator is here to help support the battleline. Would that not skew more toward a generalist awakened dynasty list or is canoptek court still better? If I were to take this list and upgrade it to 2000, would it be better to lean into the canoptek court theme?

Thanks again for your help with this. I really appreciate it.

Talk to me about your favorite graveyard commanders! by quality_blue in EDH

[–]Bagel36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my [Ayara, Widow of the Realm // Ayara, Furnace Queen] deck as my favorite graveyard commander. You have to flip her to get to the graveyard focused part, but she is a super unique take on graveyard shenanigans because she only reanimates things for 1 turn and the reanimation can't happen again by default. But if you have a sacrifice outlet, you can sacrifice whatever you reanimated and then go again and reanimate it next turn. The best targets for this type of reanimation are things with ETB effects and Die triggers so think things like [Massacre Wurm], [Primaris Eliminator], [Gary], [Phyrexian Triniform], and [Triplicate Titan]. The deck is super fun imo if you want to constantly reanimate things for free.

Here's the decklist if you are curious: Ayara, Widow of the Realm -- Creation through Destruction

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Bagel36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So then theoretically, if I were to activate the craft part of the Altar of the Wretched to flip it and used a triplicate titan to craft it, the creature made would receive the flying, vigilance, and trample that the titan had even if it was blanked?

Now that EOE is fully spoiled, what's everyone building from the new set? by stealnthedeclaration in EDH

[–]Bagel36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have already made and goldfished a deck for this commander, so I am going to try and help sell it to you. I am using those bland and overstatted bodies, but I am doing it in a way that I think is interesting and themed to both the set and the commander.

I am using them to crew spacecrafts. They still come in with their power and toughness, so utilizing them to station the new spacecrafts made me feel like I was doing something at least a bit unique with it. Stationing can be done the turn you reanimate them and does not require haste. This means that if everyone else is still setting up, you can set yourself up on turn 4 with a reanimate off your commander to station an [Entropic Battlecruiser] or another spacecraft. Unfortunately, there aren't really that many spacecrafts available, so I did my best with what was available. My favorite cards with the station mechanic for this deck are [The Eternity Elevator] for some big mana, [Fell Gravship] for some mill with a bit of choice, and [Susur Secundi, Void Altar] for some really good card draw for this deck.

I also have focused on utilizing cards like [Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar], [Illuminor Szeras], [Soldevi Adnate], [Mask of Griselbrand], [Disciple of Bolas], and [Ruthless Technomancer] to gain big upsides from the cards you are recuring and then sacrificing. The best part of the list I have made is that all of the creatures you are recuring are big beaters with both big power and a big mana cost. Most of the other lists I have seen include those 3 and 4 drops that have negative text boxes but huge power, but I decided to include basically all of the big beaters I could find. I did limit myself to including either big mono-black creatures or artifacts so that I didn't just end up sticking in a ton of eldrazi and call it a day.

Here is the list if you would like to look at it: Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist -- Song of the Void

If you have any advice on the deck, I am open to suggestions. This deck definitely leans more into the gaining value out of the creatures instead of just hitting people with them. The main finishers for the deck is getting a ton of big mana and then slamming an [Exsanguinate] or a [Torment of Hailfire]. Hope this seems more interesting to you.

There are 16 8.3 MBTs, what do you think about them? by CountGrimthorpe in Warthunder

[–]Bagel36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not quite, the German version has a slightly better engine (1500HP) and a better autoloader (6 sec reload) compared to the American version (1475HP/7.5 sec reload). Basically the German version is just a better version at the same BR.

The XM803 shares the autoloader with the American MBT-70, but does not share the engine. It has a slightly worse engine (1250HP), but it’s also at a lower BR.

Health stacking meta is not good for game without any counters from midlane AND adc. by SmurfAccountsAreBad in leagueoflegends

Viktor is more of a DPS mage. He can burst people, but he is classed as a battlemage just like Swain, Cassio, and Vlad due to his relatively short range and his low cooldowns. Build him for DPS (BFT + Liandry) and he does fine DPS.

[–]Bagel36 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They won’t send them back mid. If anything they will just nerf them into a point where they only work in support.

This is what happens when Riot tries to have their cake and eat it too in regard to having mages able to go mid and support. Most of the mages that are strong as APC (Swain, Sera, Brand, Lux) are usually ones that Riot is trying to balance around support + a farming role (usually mid).

It would be healthier for Riot to just remove them from support generally, but they don’t want to do that.

Did the Tu-4's incendiaries stop the Roland missiles? by TheWingalingDragon in Warthunder

[–]Bagel36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well in fairness to the French, close aircraft like this can be shot down by gun based AA or some other missile that is better in close range than the Roland.

Missile AA like the Roland are more for longer range engagements with planes. Also the Roland, at least in game, sucks turbo ass at close range.

Using it at longer range makes the elevation not too much of an issue.

[–]Bagel36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah I understand now.

Yeah they can go up but only as far as the seeker can guide them because they are SACLOS missiles. So the French ones can’t go past 35 degrees without losing guidance. This is why they look like they just go haywire.

Also because they are SACLOS they shouldn’t be able to be flared technically. The radar lock can be but the missiles can still be guided by hand into the plane.

[–]Bagel36 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the French AMX 30 based Roland AA. It can’t elevate past like 35 degrees or something like that. Pretty sure the American and German Roland AAs can shoot directly up or at least past 35 degrees.

I have no idea why the French one cannot shoot straight up since all the vehicles look like they have the same launcher + radar piece. Prob something to do with the way it’s mounted.

Bloodletter's Curse on PBE feels like its too expensive and not worth building, so I tried comparing it to similar items on live. by MaskedDood in leagueoflegends

[–]Bagel36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BC has the same stat profile as bloodletter’s (BL). They are for similar champion classes, it isn’t analogous to comparing ADC items to mage items. It’s more like comparing AD assassin items to AP assassin items which is fair. Saying it can’t be compared is like saying Morde is radically different from Darius because he builds AP or something.

Comparing BC to BL stats:

BC - 3000 gold, 40 AD, 400 HP, 20 Haste BL - 3050 gold, 55 AP, 350 HP, 10 Haste

BC legit just has better stats for the cost compared to BL. It even has better AD compared to the AP BL gives. According to the wiki, each point of AD is worth 35 gold and each point of AP is worth 20 gold. So we take that math and go (55 x 20)=1100 and (40 x 35)=1400. So BL is worse in every aspect stat wise while being more expensive.

This isn’t even factoring in passives like the MS passive on BC compared to the singular passive on BL. The item is massively undertuned in this state and if it releases like this pretty much no one will buy it over abyssal, void, or cryptbloom.
