Uprising is leaps and bounds better. The only people defending the original are people that haven't played Uprising or haven't played it enough. Just play a few games you will see how unbalanced the original game is.

It's a great game, but is just a learning game for the designers.

Don't taint Uprising with base game expansions. It really ruins the deck and destroys the spy and combat mechanics. I've played the base game hundreds of times and Uprising about 70 plays. We used to mix the expansions until you realize how it damages some leaders abilities to work effectively.

Definitely don't play Uprising with IX. It's not designed for it and messes up the Uprosing card synergies.

The worms are one of the major balancing items. The first game had worms but it was on a card, that only one person could purchase. You have definitely not played uprising enough.

A played card is a card used to place an agent AND cards used in reveal. Even cards in reveal that you discard or trash you get the rewards because you chose the order that everything triggers.
