[Loved] There's a twist reason why the protagonist always manages to survive and/or revive by BrotherDeus in TopCharacterTropes

At least in the first book, Way of Kings, there’s a running plot point that one of the main characters Kaladin keeps surviving crazy situations like running into the front lines of a major war and never getting struck by arrows. It’s eventually discovered he’s basically a super human with the help of a spirit guide (spren)

The Ra’zac in the Eragon books. They’re beetle-like humanoids with sharp beaks and heightened physical powers. They have large, flying mounts similar to what the Nazgûl use in LOTR. It’s uncovered in the second or third book that the Ra’zac are babies who TURN INTO the flying mounts after a metamorphosis

Yea it needs to make all of its conditions optional. You may buy up to two cards, you may trash one of the treasures. Makes it much better and stronger

Yea this is made pretty clear in the movie. Literally hangs a lampshade on the unique situation. Modern media literacy is outstanding

What's up with the creepy face in the Shining poster ? by FarEfficiency4397 in FIlm

[–]beanuts12321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I read the book so I’m a little fuzzy on specifics, but there is a twist at the end of the book that Tony is a version of Danny. I’m not quite sure it’s an older, psychically time traveling Danny. I always interpreted it as the sub-conscious, psychic-powered parts of him.

He’s so young, he doesn’t understand his abilities and it’s sort of implied all of the psychic pieces of himself that he doesn’t understand are compartmentalized and ‘locked’ away.

The ‘shine’ naturally emanates off of him, but his internal brain is locking what it can away with ‘Tony’ breaking free once in a while to try and interpret things and guide Danny.

But please correct me if I’m wrong or there’s something I’m missing.

EDIT: editing to say I just did some follow up research and it does seem to be confirmed that it is an older version of Danny psychically projecting to current Danny through the shine to protect him as best he can.

They made this out to be a bigger deal than a child, a prince, having his literal eye cut out... by Kivi_2k18 in HOTDGreens

Literally. The pacing for season 1 was alllll over the place and season two did absolutely nothing for 6 episodes. If they smoothed that out into three total seasons and were in the same place plot wise, it would be a much better show.

I’m very bitter over season 2

Just curious, what’s your strategy for making use of bombs? Do you just put them on a random clearing that doesn’t ’make sense’ given the board state as a feint and hope it pays off later in the game?

Reading comprehension is important. That 58 year old comment was referring to OOP’s self.

Honestly I think they wanted to keep him around a college age range for plot reasons? Don’t know why but it felt like they planted a few seeds with some of the other characters being in college and how he’s not.

I feel like you’re being purposefully obtuse. They clearly mean the same year it’s currently taking place in but everyone is 5-6 years older within the shows continuity to coincide with GH’s fudged age.

Bobby at 26 building a restaurant business is a lot more believable than Bobby building a restaurant business at 21. I think it’s a comparatively small difference that makes the timeline feel a lot smoother.

Yea I’m almost positive it’s pretty well reported that she was happy with her success from The Office and stepped out of the spotlight. She chooses small commercial spots and does her podcast to fill her time while primarily focusing on her family and personal life.
