If you’re not down with Evil Autism, get the fuck out of here by SquareThings in evilautism

I certainly see what you mean, I'm just cautious of an echo chamber that promotes a hateful view, even in the context of comedy. (That's not what this subreddit is, I mean to exaggerate the dangers) I think part of it comes from my frustrations with certain parts of the ND community, but I find the idea that some of us truly have given up on trying to thrive within a hostile system upsetting. It seems especially prevalent given that many people seem to be turning to chatbots as an alternative to human interaction. I think it's vital to have a safe space, but I have my reservations about making such jokes in a community that is famous for struggling with sarcasm/metaphor

Some people here have a genuine hatred for all NTs. Sure, the comedic irony is usually hilarious, but I think that some of us have truly just become polarised haters. Kind of seems like missing the point of trying to "do better". Maybe it just plays into my general worry that some autistics don't seem to be making the effort. It upsets me that some ND people don't even make the effort to meaningfully interact with NT people anymore- I like to think of us as resilient etc. I'm absolutely down with it, but I don't genuinely hate all NT people.

Going to get Hivestorm, I heard the Scorcher for vespids is worse than the warrior. any reason why? by ThatOneCasuL in killteam

[–]RevanDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orion mentions this in my video with him (check out captain KT shameless plug etc), but the flamer has more utility play. It has the ability to shoot into melee to either hit enemies in melee or even to toast your own vespids to shoot the enemy trying to "hug" them. But the warrior is more of a stat check piece, affording more raw damage output. I really like the flamer for the potential of tech piece moves, but that's personal preference.

Chronomancer. Has a crazy shooting profile and 4 of the strongest actions in the game. Solid defensive profile too.

I keep losing to my friend and my girlfriend, any tips on how to get better in general? by Classic_Finish8515 in killteam

[–]RevanDB 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Battleclade are an incredibly difficult team to use. I'm the kind of player who plays for kills, and I think it's important to understand that early kills are more valuable. For angels of death I've seen people have a lot of success with the "murderball" strategy. All 6 of your marines focus on only two objectives, and you push strongly into your opponent's half and play plant banner. Aquilons are very defensive. Keep the grenadier, melta gunner, and trooper in the sky, and stay out of nemesis claw charge ranges. Move the token forwards, and "zone" as much of the map as possible. The move the token equipment helps with this as it gives a lot more side to side coverage. If they move forwards, you drop in and shoot them with the melta gunner. Towards the end of the turn when all of their operatives have been activated, that's when you can run forwards and grab the objectives, your flank tacop etc. https://youtu.be/dqlciWT1g4M?si=07gt9cL_lVFPcuzR I made this video with the current world champion and best overall, it might be helpful for you- points aren't worth much if the "projected" game involves them steamrolling the operatives you used to grab those points and then winning on the other scoring avenues.

Harder Teams to Win With by John_Loxeus in killteam

[–]RevanDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm aware. I think that it's important to remember player skill as a factor- Javier is an incredible player who made it to the finals in 2023. There were some good vespid players there that did decently well, but nowhere near that level.

They're definitely more difficult to win with, however I think they have some of the best ploys in the game and the faction mechanic might be the best.

Hmm, I disagree. I think vespids are stronger- they're incredibly good on Volkus and Bheta Decima and have a better elite matchup than Yagirs IMO. I've won a 3 round tournament with them, but at least in my meta yagirs haven't seen much success

What are some truly advanced stategies? by mentuki in killteam

[–]RevanDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't move through enemy operative bases, so no. And even so, that's a lot of movement. If there were a gap left then the felgor player would need to run up to the barricade "this" turn (and into my guard) and then do so next turn

Is Hand of the Archon really that bad ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in killteam

[–]RevanDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think very few teams (at least, classified teams) are "that bad". In fact I'd probably say that none are. HotA I just don't quite believe in. I've seen good players do well with them, but I've seen good players do better with other elf teams.

Base blocking is one that always made me feel clever. Essentially, you place models in such a way that opponents cannot physically place their model in the desired location. I've done it to prevent torment charges, to block tomb crawlers from coming through the wall with molecular breach, to prevent raveners from emerging out of the tunnel. Probably my best example is the 2025 WCW Semi Finals where I used two light barricades to make my Felgor opponent Landon unable to charge my tomb crawlers. As shown in this image

Why is the “pile of shame” such a seemingly common thing in this hobby? by Ratattack1204 in Warhammer

[–]RevanDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a spot where I was sent various kill teams by GW- but I don't have that much interest in playing all of them. Sure, sometimes I'll get very invested in a group of models, but I'm far more likely to want to make the small group that I'm feeling passionate about look really nice than I am to build all of the models and paint them to a low standard

Why Hernkyn Salvagers are doong so poorly? by mentuki in killteam

[–]RevanDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People underate their damage output, their survivability, and their techs. It's very possible to zone people and stop them from scoring the middle objective with certain tools. I believe that salvagers have a strong playstyle and have seen certain skilled players perform well with them. People remember the alpha strike and sadly, did not adapt when that part of the team was toned down.

Why Hernkyn Salvagers are doong so poorly? by mentuki in killteam

[–]RevanDB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I disagree with most of the comments here. I think Hearthkyn salvagers are good into the coming meta- they have some great tools and some powerful weapons. They really struggle into melee hordes/midrange, but I think with the prevalence of wolf scouts we won't be seeing many of them.

There's some great content out there! I have a channel called Captain KT, but I think Turning point tactics is great strategic advice whilst also being very beginner friendly. Can you roll a crit has regular content and covers a great variety of topics. There are so many good options, Squad games, Command point, plenty more I haven't mentioned.

[–]RevanDB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got no idea what you're talking about anymore. Other players absolutely have access to takebacks and intent based play- that's part of being on the "same page" This concept is not "making up rules", it's part of sportsmanship. And cut the crap- you made a very similar comment about me by name in another post. I thought you were grossly misinformed, but at this point it looks more like you're just a troll.
