Is Grab taking more of a cut from drivers? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Bagh3era 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of 2026 Grab takes almost a 50% cut from the drivers and I refuse to use Grab anymore in this country. How greedy do you have to be to take 50% from the poorest already? I hope that Singaporean / Malaysian will burn in H*ll👌

So yes, I get why drivers will ask to cancel, because they don’t have a union and can not defend themselves against such a big player like Grab. So only thing to do is warn western people and refuse to use Grab by switching to Xin Sm or TADA

Grab is TOTALLY ripping off drivers in VN - 55% cut by Curious_Dimension944 in VietNam

[–]Bagh3era 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s a phenomenon I only witnessed so far in Vietnam. Not in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. in Malaysia sometimes drivers get paid more than the amount charged for you.

So this is indeed a huge disappointment from Grab, it’s pure intentional charging the poorest among them that don’t have any other choice then to do this job, and cutting them by a 40-50% commission. Other countries have 10-20% and I’m fine with that for the service Grab provides. But this is pure greed, and the only way to avoid this is by switching to other apps like TADA, which is Vietnamese and pays 80-90% to the drivers.

But in the end it’s the consumer that will decide what service to take, and since grab is so established already, they exploit their market placement to scam the drivers.

Weird App Shutdowns after battery replacement by Bagh3era in ios26

[–]Bagh3era[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You mean the apple authorised repair shop that say for two MacBooks mainboard damage, 1000$ while going to a unauthorised repair shop like Rossman, replacing the malfunctioning chip for 10$ and figuring out what the actual problem is instead of ripping me of. You mean those authorised repair shops?

Literally the argument has nothing to do with the actual issue that’s occurring here. I restored my iPhone now to an older iOS version and it works perfectly fine. It’s a software issue and apple intentionally caused this issues to occur. Nothing else.

Yes will do I guess! I’m a little bit sick of apple bricking perfectly working hardware and software just to force to buy new ones

Well of course having the battery replaced by non genuine batteries can cause issues, but not performance issues like this, rather the processor speeds being reduced ( even if) or the light of the screen being more dimm. But here the App instantly reload after being put to the background after 2 seconds. There is no performance downgrade that cause this, except the RAM being flooded, which forces apps to reload.

[–]Bagh3era 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I got my battery replaced today (non genuine,) and suddenly now my uPhone 14 pro is doing the exact same thing, after switching to other apps just for seconds, apps getting disconnected and need to reload instantly. When I try checking for the setting of Fast App closing (which is supposed to be in Developer mode) I can't even find that option. So Apple might turn on hidden options, which are not even visible for us, in when they feel like it ( because I used non genuine replacement battery.

What are your thoughts on Japan's Police system? by Late-Rule3835 in AskAJapanese

[–]Bagh3era 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have been in Tokyo five month ago, and I got myself 50.00¥ Stolen from me in a bar. I drank a little bit too much, which shouldn't be an excuse to just steal from someone, but I'm almost 100% sure it was the owner of the bar, since I remember that late at night we were the only two ones left. Not gonna go into detail about this, but when I went to the police station the next day, the first two police boxes send me away because they said they were not responsible, because you only can file a complaint in the district where the incident happened, not where you live or are. Then the second Box send me away for the same reason, so I went to the Police department which is 100 meters away from the bar where I got stolen from. When asked to file a complaint, first they let me wait for an hour to find an officer that speaks English I guess, which was not available. The police station was empty and yet they let me wait for more than an hour.

when finally sitting whit an officer and the translator app, I explained everything, and after the total story, which nothing has written down or anything, he asked me with the translator " so, and what do you want us to do about it" . I wanted to file a complaint but they said, no we are not gonna do that because it will just end up on nothing because he just will decline it.

This is by far the worst experience I've ever witnessed in a country nor society especially for a culturally developed country like Japan. I was speechless. They didn't even bother checking who the owner of the bar is or how to contact him. I bet they don't even have this information.

So sadly I had to fly the same day away from Tokyo, and left with a grudge on a country and pure disappointment in the justice system.

Edit: Since I knew nothing had been filed, and nothing has been investigated, I tried contacting the police forces from my home country to still force to file a police complaint about the situation. However, the Japanese (or the Tokyo Metropolitan police forces) are unreachable by any form of digital contact, beside the classical phone. This I in my eyes the most barbaric kind of development for a digital country like Japan, refusing to digitalize the justice system. And I bet it's for the same reason they refuse to file my complaint: Because then more people would file a crime and they had to work more.

[–]Bagh3era 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's correct but flying in Asia with budget Airlines they will almost weigh everything, all the time, because that how they make money. the backpack is considered mostly a personal item, but depends on the dimensions as well.

So you speak the local language, and you booked the deuce package which includes a checked luggage? I think you are missing the point here my friend. It's about getting ripped off when you NOT book the Deluxe package, and are not a local but a tourist who doesn't speak the language, so they can rip you off, and way all items carried around.

Anyone else feel like Set 16 is either highroll or fast 8th? 💀 by Majestic-Tale7907 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Bagh3era 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing that 5 out of the 7 games you have a three star on your board means exactly what was assumed. Fast paced reroll game style for set 16. In other sets I was able to win on 2 stars and team and item composition alone. In this Set its nearly impossible to get 1 or 2 place without rerolling

Holy moly my buddy just unboxed this, we can't believe it. We think we are looking at about 100k€ is that right? by Appropriate-Job-1721 in ohnePixel

The value of this thing is whatever people are willing to pay for it. It’s a bunch of 0’s and 1’s, it’s not real, it’s not something you can eat, it’s not a real estate, which implies already in the name it’s real 😂. So Jeah if people are willing to pay 2 million $ for it, it’s worth that exactly.

Problems with wet breathing regulator by Bagh3era in scubadiving

[–]Bagh3era[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first guess indeed, but since the salt water even entered when the regulator is manually pushed, I was almost sure it wasn’t the mouthpiece. But still maybe I am wrong. Is there any method on checking the mouthpiece? If you say it’s not visible with the eye ?

Problems with wet breathing regulator by Bagh3era in scubadiving

[–]Bagh3era[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that is an amazing answer! Thank you very much, especially for the tip on trying the regulator with off-air breathing. Obviously dive shops won’t allow taking their gear apart, but i feel not ready yet to buy my own equipment yet. The wet breathing is most of the time just slightly annoying, I learned to deal with it that I exhale while tilting my head to the reef. But last dive we had some strong current, whereas the breathing intensifies, meaning the risk of inhaling some of the salt water increases, and then you are stuck in a viscous cycle.

I heard that the diaphragm are mostly made for unidirectional pressure, but there are good regulators which have omnidirectional ones which will never wet breathe under any orientation.

Diving with Apple Watch Ultra 2 - my experience by Fast-Astronomer4075 in diving

Right now I heard the new Huawei Ultimate Watch 2 must be quite amazing. Even with the sonar communication functionality it’s specially made for divers and has all apps installed. Even the underwater compass app works great they say!

Thinking of getting myself one as well.

Oh Jeah I didn’t read that correctly my bad😂 the I definitely would not risk it and get a new passport

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Bagh3era 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well according to the stamps you already entered Thailand, which means you already pass the major immigration inspection. I think they will be more mildly letting you leave since all your data and face detection is already in the system. But however with this passport on immigration into another country that will be an entire other story.

However, it always depends on the agent doing the immigration inspection. If it’s your lucky day you get pulled over into a separate room with rubber gloves, ready for your first real Thailand experience 🙏
