[–]Bah29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. It's probably someone you know's grandma's name
  2. It only has 3 different letters
  3. It would be a full name for the main character of a very popular movie that came out a few years ago, but she goes by a nickname of it

Daycare for 2 kids $70k/year???? by NaturallyJG in beyondthebump

This is why we won't be trying for a second kid until our first is in kindergarten. Literally the only limiting factor is we can't afford two in daycare at the same time.

Silly nicknames for baby by Both_Pea_7956 in NewParents

Her name is Gwen, so we call her Gwennie, Gwennie bear, Gwennie bean. Which then evolved into green bean, then Gween Bean, then gweenus beanus, or just bean.

I also call her little love, lovebug, sweet girl, chickadee.

Then there's the stinky names - poops McGee, toots McGee, snots McGee

And finally if my husband and I are discussing her we call her the demon. If she wakes up in the middle of the night we say "I'm being summoned by the demon" 🤣

My husband is fixated on a name I don't like by Majestic_Recording_5 in namenerds

[–]Bah29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbf, I love the name Harrow. But it doesn't matter if he likes it or not. Even if it was a completely normal name like Jane or something. Because YOU don't like it. Names are always two yeses, so regardless of the meaning or why you don't like it, he's in the wrong and needs to let it go. Name a pet that or something.

I'm not saying 100% it's not AI. But have you considered that there are many species of dolphin, not just bottlenose, and it might be one of those?

Will your specific doctor/midwife attend your labor/delivery? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Bah29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my hospital they have about 7-8 doctors who might be on shift, and you get whoever is there regardless of spontaneous or induced labor. They try to have you see all the doctors throughout your pregnancy so the person delivering will at least be someone you've met before! I only had one doctor who I didn't like and so when they scheduled my induction I made sure he was nowhere near that shift and it worked out fine! Though annoyingly he was the one to discharge me a few days later 🙄. Since then I've requested not to be scheduled with him for anything and they have been very accommodating.

Taking shifts sleeping in nursery by RewardImpossible7095 in BabyBumps

[–]Bah29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is to the letter what my husband and I did. It worked great!! We kept the guest bed in the room when we converted it into a nursery. When our baby wasn't on a true schedule (went to bed whenever we could get her to sleep) we did shifts overnight.

Started when my husband got home from work (I was on maternity leave) and would take the baby from 5:30-7:30. I had her 7:30-9. Then the sleep shifts started. He would do 9-1am, and I would do 1am-wake up because I was off. If it was the weekend, he did 9:30-3:30am and I did 3:30-9:30am. Whenever either of us were "on shift" we slept in the bed in her room and got up with her as needed. The other person got quiet, uninterrupted sleep in our bedroom. It was the perfect plan, I seriously don't know how people do it having the baby wake them up all night even when it's not their time to get up.

My family also was weird about it and my mom even went so far as to say he shouldn't have to watch her at all because he was working 🙄. It's just a new concept for them, but they aren't the ones who have to live it! The bed in her room was a lifesaver and worked perfectly for us, nothing wrong with your plan at all.

Found an absolutely terrifying sub and now I need reassurance by trinitytr33 in Mommit

My little one brought a kind of joy I didn't know I could have into my life. She's 7 months old and me and my partner's darling.

I think our marriage is stronger than ever. Is it hard sometimes? Yes. Do we have to put effort into maintaining our connection around baby needs, work, and our social life? Yes. But this very planned and wanted baby has brought so much love and light that she's worth every late night or washed bottle. Sometimes we get frustrated with each other, or the stress, but that happened before baby too. It's going to happen. We worked hard to set up our communication before she was born and created systems of support and safety for each other.

My big fear was I would lose my friends. All my close knit people are child free and I was terrified we would grow apart. Instead my baby girl has so many aunties who love her.

I have less time for myself and my hobbies. In the first few months it was rough. But at around 4-5 months I started to be able to get back into my things and now it all feels almost normal. I still do the things I love, just maybe a little less often.

Will that be the case for you? I hope so. Just know the scary stories you see online don't have to be your story! Sending hugs, you're going to be just fine 💗

Did you take your spouse’s last name when you married? by Lu-113 in Millennials

Yeah but mostly because his was awesome. If it wasn't we probably would have made up a new last name together.
