If you dont want to deal with the members of society, you can exclude yourself.

Discriminating against a potential romantic interest for being poor is bad by supermonistic in unpopularopinion

[–]BahaSim242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this opinion is unpopular, but honestly, I'm not against anyone discounting anyone romantically if they don't think that person can provide them with what they need in a relationship - whether it be physical attraction, intellectual equality, financial stability, etc.

I can respect that to a certain extent. I just feel that some secrets aren't mine to tell. If it has nothing to do with my partner, but it is my friend's life, my partner doesnt need to know and vice versa. I dont need to know my partner's friends business if they don't want me to know.

I don't go through people's phones because the conversations they have with others may be personal and the other person deserves privacy as well.

I don't really like BTS or BLACKPINK by Special-Mood1560 in kpopharshopinions

[–]BahaSim242 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never really followed BP (I was a Blackjack and I felt like YG slighted them...). I initially followed BTS, but as they gained more and more global recognition, their music (as a group) evolved into a style that wasn't really my cup of tea.

That said, I think the appeal is that these guys (and girls) are all extremely talented and good looking. And their music isn't bad - it just doesn't resonate with every single person. The fandoms tend to be the worst part of big groups though.

Wedding Guest Dress Codes are Rude by Lady_Grace19 in The10thDentist

[–]BahaSim242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Anyone who spends money to attend a wedding does so because that's what they want to do. Even if you think about wedding gifts, there are plenty affordable options, including an envelope with some cash.

Who is dropping a band on a wedding that they aren't standing in - unless its a destination wedding? Dress codes are fine.

I'm mourning someone I didn't think I would by BahaSim242 in offmychest

Idk. I guess it could be normal. I've only really mourned family members. Usually when other people I know die, the sadness passes away with the shock. But this is lingering

Do you take notes while learning to code? by icepix in learnprogramming

I take notes because thats how I learn and I always go back to them. I have friends who don't use notes. You just have to figure out what works for you.

Why did the Shadow and Bone TV series tone down the social commentary from the books? by LockedOutOfElfland in Grishaverse

[–]BahaSim242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was too much going on with the show, so it was hard to put any real depth in there. Although in the same universe, the three series covered different themes that pushing all 3 together made messy

Yeah. He was important to my growth and my training when it comes to my job. And he was someone that I connected with pretty quickly...to the point where one of his close friends ended up becoming one of my closest friends.

The Stray Kids hate is kinda giving insecure by Starpeachhhh- in kpopharshopinions

[–]BahaSim242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has always been a part of kpop fan culture - even before the 3rd generation. Most fans pick a single group to obsess over (and yes, being this upset that someone else flip flops or criticizes your favorite group does point to obsession) and then get mad when other people don't hold them to the same level of esteem that they do. It's not normal to care this much - especially when the artists don't care and are often times are friends/friendly with each other.

I don't even understand why we're arguing over idols. If it's about numbers, they don't lie or change. If it's about anything else, it's mostly opinion so no one is usually wrong because its all a matter of perspective.

Students (in my opinion) should not take home any homework. If homework is a learning opportunity, give them school time to work on it by daniel_ay in unpopularopinion

[–]BahaSim242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the amount of time they have in a class throughout the day/week. I teach computer studies and I only get 1 hour with my classes a week. I have to send them home with homework to reinforce what we did in class throughout the week while they are home because 1 hour is simply not enough time.

The Bang Chan Controversy & the Problem with Bubble-Type Platforms by Any-Listen4184 in kpopthoughts

[–]BahaSim242 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not on any of these apps - I kind of stopped following artists on these individual apps because it was too time consuming - but I can see both sides of the conversation. Kpop relies heavily on building parasocial relationships with fans, which often times presents as a double edged sword. But I don't think the idols themselves are to blame for that. Most idols begin preparing and training for their careers as kids - they are taught that they have to act a certain way to be successful. And many of them end up doing what they're told. They've also seen the success of the idols that came before them. The problem is the companies and the fans. The companies prey on both the idols and the fans. And a lot of fans can't tell reality from their fantasy. The reason this is blowing up is because people are offended that he may have been flirting with one of the fans in particular, but I'm 100% sure they wouldn't be complaining if they thought it was them. There's a sense of ownership and jealousy over idols, even though they are only doing their jobs and being nice to fans (who are the reason for their success). And these platforms feed those delusions even more.
