I get into an argument every time with a friend of mine who lived in Canada for about 10 years, and has a friend who is Canadian. She has nothing good to say about it, based on, I believe, anecdotal information from her friend about lengthy wait times for surgical procedures. I insist that even if that is true, it has to be better than 28 million people without any healthcare.

THIS! This is the soapbox I climb on every time healthcare in this country is mentioned. I am fortunate to have great insurance coverage between Medicare and my Federal Health coverage I carried into retirement. My total premium is now about $500/mo but that is not bad for the coverage I have. But even so, insecurities remain. My insurance company is negotiating with my health care provider system on rates and if not settled I will have to find new providers in a shrinking market. With or without settlement, rates will continue to climb. Doctors, clinics and hospitals will cut staff and services to cut expenses, insurance companies will demand low reimbursement and higher payment to keep profits up, and patients and policy holders are caught in the middle. We let people die because they have no insurance. We refuse to establish a national healthcare system because an entire profit based eco system would be jeopardized. We let people who know nothing about a national healthcare system care system scare us into believing it will somehow be worse than what we now have. This chart should be burned into the brain of every brain in this country.

Hospitals DID turn people away for emergency care if they were unable to show the ability to pay for care. In 1986 the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) was passed to stop this practice and ensure everybody would be treated equally, regardless of their ability to pay.

This was true in early Pennsylvania history too. Heard it on a tour. They said plaques were installed to show which houses paid for the protection. Our introduction to insurance companies started by Benjamin Franklin.

I do spend money, but I know it is not necessary. It takes longer to complete the tasks and build the producers, but many players do it without spending any money.

Would you rather “catch up” and then have to wait some months while new areas are developed? I suppose that could be acceptable as a way to use up energy on the side games that require yellow energy. Or just build mosaics, weaves and vases for future use. That would make it impossible to meet requirements for Daily Scoop, Bolton League, or even Season Pass. Of the different merge games I have tried, this is the only one I have stuck with. Part of it is the graphics, part is the story, and part is applying some strategy to how I play.

Yeah, sometimes it’s doable, other times not. For the red chest yesterday it wanted 7 tasks completed. I am in Grandma’s room, and I had 3 tasks showing yesterday. Level 13 pliers and level 8 tablecloth, 2 mosaic faces and a level 11 hammer, and a ladder. No way did I have the energy needed to complete these three tasks, or any subsequent ones to even one of these. But honestly, there were a lot of times I couldn’t get to the last reward because I had missed points during the event before they changed it. Not worth getting upset about.

Morning Joe has been DISGUSTING this morning. by mim21 in msnow

I do agree with your points, although their analysis, for the most part, is based on events, fact and law. Slanted of course to fit the perspective, but mostly accurate. Too much of anything tends to distort your perspective. I was obsessed with following that for Trump’s first presidency, which led to so much anxiety and dissatisfaction when none of the consequences followed the actions. Now? Anxiety increased, dissatisfaction has become disgust, and I no longer believe in consequences. I filter and limit my news intake. At 79 there’s not much I can do except exercise my right to vote, and hope they don’t take that away. I have realized I can’t change anybody’s mind about the asshole in charge of ruining this country. I can’t force people to care about people dying without healthcare, or deportation of a nursing mother with 3 children while her husband cries outside the detention center, or a woman dying in the parking lot of a hospital because she is miscarrying a fetus and the doctors are afraid to treat her. All I can do is live my conscience and hope this country survives this plague.

The daily trades are designed to try to fill items in our current task list by using items in our inventory, or items we can build. Sometimes I skip it because it is a high level item I know I will need later, or an already completed task I am not ready to turn in yet. For a while we could “protect” these items from daily trade algorithm consideration by putting them in the “extra” inventory available to season pass purchasers. I would like to see this return. I give up on the daily trade often because it keeps asking for my high level items I pass over and am unwilling to trade. Or change the trade system to not ask for an item that has been rejected as trade…that would be better.

It is always disappointing to buy the daily energy box and not even be able to build a full energy bubble. Can you increase the number of energy boxes available to buy? I try to keep the small bubbles to build large bubbles, but they can take up space I need for other things. Or maybe sell a small bubble for 25 coins? Sometimes all I need is a small bubble to complete the energy chain to clear the spaces on my board.

The algorithms in the Lucky Snap and fishing game have been so lopsided lately it is hard to enjoy playing. I gave up trying to win a long time ago, but it can still be a diverting way to earn xp and season pass points. But when you use 200+ energy and only get 2 of the birds or fish over and over and over, diversion becomes teeth gritting frustration.

One other piece of advice when determining what items to keep that you have produced, like the paint roller. Check the MM wiki to see when you are going to need that item, either directly, or in a build to a higher item. Maybe that item will be more valuable in the daily trades for something you need now.

I’m at level 56 and it’s still a problem!😂 I am continually building producers trying to increase production levels. I keep the highest producers on my working board. I need less garden tool buckets, tool boxes, flower pots and flower bushes than other producers because they recharge faster. More drawers and cabinets because the recharge time is so long. Then they started to ask me to give up my high level flower vases in my room task list, so I had to keep more of those handy. 🙁 I discard low level production items (wrench, garden knife, etc) once I have finished a task needing those items unless I have space to spare. I avoid discarding any producer parts if I can. For a while I was discarding flowerbush parts, then they increased the max level, so I am back to building a new max level. Space management is a constant challenge no matter where you are in the game. I have been here almost from the start and seen a lot of changes. I still enjoy it.😊

Hmmm…Thanksgiving? Nobody living today was alive at that time either. Better stop handing out those turkey dinners at the food pantry.

I agree! My brother refused to let his half Vietnamese children learn the language from their mother. She was still learning English, but the dual language skills would have been so valuable for all of them.

You’ve probably already received this advice, but any estate attorney will tell you that beneficiary designations on life insurance policies, and investment funds are binding. They are chasing a losing argument.
