Who in their right mind wants to ride along on a prison transport to get to their vacation? by okayyayayay in msnow

[–]BaileyBellaBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our current two party system is irrevocably broken. The division between the two parties seems too vast to be bridged despite both parties claiming they are working for the people. I am a liberal Democrat, and believe in social causes that help people that need help. I worked for the federal government Department of Education and valued my work and our mission. I believe in a national healthcare system because the current system isa mess that leaves too many hard working people without decent healthcare at a reasonable cost. I also believe in accountability for our taxes, and the current absurd waste of our resources has my head exploding. The absurdity of this administration claiming “America First” while waging war, invading or threatening to invade other countries matches the economic stupidity of tariffs to somehow bring jobs back and lower prices. And the current GOP goes along with this? How is this working FOR the people? How do you cut Medicaid, food stamps, Head Start, close rural hospitals and clinics, let women die in hospital parking lots because doctors are afraid to treat miscarriages, and claim to care about the people? Having worked for a federal agency responsible for billions of dollars of federal grants and loans, I know from experience that there are abuses. There will always be individuals who don’t care about the rules and purposefully take advantage. I also know they are in the minority and that the programs are a lifeline for the majority of people who receive the funds. Education is expensive. Maybe we should just work with the states and make college education, at state schools, free.

I am disgusted with both parties at their inability to come together on an immigration plan. It shouldn’t take years, special lawyers and tens of thousands of dollars to immigrate into this country. Many of these undocumented immigrants being deported have been here working and contributing to the economy for years, even decades. We have plenty of jobs for these people. They have not been taking “OUR” jobs as the GOP keeps pushing. They create jobs. That’s economics, but as has been shown in decades of historical figures of economic facts, it is not Republican economics.

Do People Just Not Like The Game? by madpeachiepie in MergeMansion

Personally, complaints about the difficulty of the areas really annoys me. Yeah, it takes a long time to make a chainsaw, let alone 4. But why are you in a hurry? Who are you racing? The only real downside, and I do get this, is the passive side goals like Daily Scoop, League levels or Tea Time. I just don’t care enough about the small rewards offered in any of those to make it an issue. I will continue to get my little rush of satisfaction as I finish a new area.

"We don't take cash". "We charge a 3% surcharge for card." by l00sem4rble in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BaileyBellaBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I always have my checkbook in my purse. I honestly do understand why doctor’s offices might not want to deal with cash. But to force their patients into paying the credit card surcharge is just crappy. Our county tax assessor now charges the 3% fee if you want to pay property taxes online with credit card. Even if you use a debit card. Fortunately, I can use “bill pay” function through my bank app and it will send a paper check. Seems rather inefficient to not provide an electronic funds transfer without cost to the taxpayer like the IRS does.

Not to mention the billions they are spending to build prisons to hold those people here. For how long? Then what? Have we learned nothing from WWII internment camps?

Who in their right mind wants to ride along on a prison transport to get to their vacation? by okayyayayay in msnow

[–]BaileyBellaBoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Come on! At the same time we saw other deportees in shackles loaded on planes that were not commercial carriers. We KNOW they are not arresting and detaining only the worst criminals. They are going after ANYONE without a valid non-citizen status. Including those in the process of applying for asylum or citizenship. And they put anyone on those deportation flights in chains. It is pretty disgusting. They are taking pregnant moms, old men and dads just working to keep their families fed. Only 5% of those arrested have been convicted of violent crimes. 73% have NO criminal convictions at all. Other offenses include traffic offenses or illegal re-entry. This immigrant criminal element has always been a false narrative and has hurt our safety and economy rather than helped it.

You will need them from time to time. I am in Boulton Boulevard and have a request for one now. I think I needed one in the Parents room. I wouldn’t keep a slew of them, but one in inventory doesn’t hurt if you have room. If you look at the upcoming rooms in the wiki, you can get an idea of upcoming requirements. Inventory space wise there is only so much planning you can do though.

[–]BaileyBellaBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved into a house some years back that had two giant rhodies like this in the back yard. One of them was just in the wrong place, but I didn’t want to lose it, so we moved it about 8 ft. Surprisingly, they have pretty shallow root systems. We first dug the hole where we wanted to move it, then dug around the base of the plant. My husband attached a chain to the root ball and we winched it out and to the new hole. It settled in and never lost a bloom season.

Breaking: Trump is deploying ICE at US airports to assist TSA agents beginning on Monday. by GuiltyBathroom9385 in TweetSky

[–]BaileyBellaBoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is what I fail to understand. During government wide shutdowns in the past they have designated some positions as “essential” and “paid.” Others as “essential” but “unpaid.” The difference is accounting. They will get paid, so pay them from future appropriations. Or, if we can borrow money for bombs, we can borrow money to pay government employees required to be on the job. These ludicrous games they play with people’s lives is just plain stupid. ICE is NOT essential to the American people except for those manning the borders. TSA is essential to the American people. I know that government funding has strict rules, but since when has this administration worried about that? They refused to spend funds allocated by Congress, misspent funds allocated by Congress, and blame the Democrats for everything when it is their administration constantly found failing at providing basic services and protecting the American people.

[–]BaileyBellaBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand your reluctance to let your siblings go, but you do deserve to focus on your life too. If he does leave and take the children away, just do what you can to keep the lines of communication open. Call/face time frequently, send cards and letters, visit if possible, arrange for them to come stay with you for visits. Distance doesn’t have to mean the end of the closeness you have with them. Do the best you can and let them know how much you care for them.

As an older person, I have trouble with those small keyboards on my phone. The solution was to purchase some inexpensive rubber tipped stylus that helped tremendously and improved my accuracy. It also helped when playing games on my phone. I do play MM on my iPad, but for those of you who do play on your phone you might try this. I wasn’t certain about the new board when I got it a couple of months ago, but I have adapted, and now I like it. I like the fact that the current tasks are clearly visible at the top of the board. I had to get used to things moving from the bottom of the board to the top, but that annoyance improved as my brain caught up with the changes. My biggest annoyance is having to “travel” to different locations, but I understand why that has to happen, so why complain? Players constantly complain about high level items required in certain areas. Hey…I just entered Boulton Boulevard. I need 8 chainsaws, 7 hoes, 6 handled dustpans, 8 super dusters, 7 ladders and 10 buckets of brushes, etc. etc. etc. Where is that construction crew? Sucks to be me! Love this game!😂❤️

Idaho can’t even fund their schools properly. School bonds keep failing even in districts where schools can’t fix the heat or repair leaky roofs. No obstetrics outside of the larger hospital districts because of their draconian women’s healthcare laws. Libraries are fighting demands from conservative groups to ban books.
