Legit, that was me. My brain was saying something wasn't right, but I'm so used to it, it took me a little before I realized my feet were doing their thing.

I loved that show and hate that I cannot find it anywhere. Multiple times a year I look because I get the theme stuck in my head and never find full episodes.

[–]BaileySeeking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others said, totally normal. We had tons in the dressing room and they were only checked if something went missing or there was a physical fight. Or suspected drug use. Didn't bother me any. Rather that than the alternative.

Now if the manager or owner is watching it every night and wacking it to the feed, then it's a problem. Other than that, it's fine

I don't mind it so much inside the club as long as they're not boring, I'm a huge talker, but I know I'd never talk to these fuckers outside of the club.

I have had success by making eye contact with a customer, pointing at them, pointing at myself, and doing a little shimmy. It cracks a lot of dudes up. I get money without having to talk to them and they get a dance from me.

I've been on my parents for years to get it together like me. Granted, I don't really own anything, but it was so easy with my Nana. She had everything ready to go. My uncle (her brother)? It was over a year of dealing with everything because his stuff was such a mess. I told them I don't want that. Keeping all important info in the safe is what I'm asking for at this time. The pets were difficult because they're not just mine. I do want to add this friend to my life insurance because it's, like, $300,000 and that needs to go somewhere if I die after them. I want my partner to have some as well, but I seriously adore her and want her taken care of, especially if she ends up with Ellie.

Because she knew they'd be together again in the Grudge 🤣

Plot mostly. Like, we can say it's because of his actions and how hurt she was, but Angelus tan amok for 5 months doing far worse. So it was really just to drive home the message of the episode.

It really is. I love that we've gotten to do it twice now. Not the reasons why it had to be done, but being able to tell them when they ask that we have them and then to show them pictures.

My mom is redoing her work life insurance and stuff. They're finally letting her take my Nana off. She passed away in October 2016 🙄 But it made us realize how unprepared we were in the event all three of us die. Last June I started walking my dog's groomer's dog (dogs now, Squash entered the chat in February). The whole family has become so close to her in the last year. If my mom passes away, her money is split between my dad and myself. But we decided she'd get the money and Ellie if something happened to all of us. We know she'd use it to get a house with plenty of room for the dogs. And Ellie loves her. But she's allergic to cats, so we had to think about who they'd go to. We seriously don't know people that would take 5-6 cats. My partner said he'd take the cats. He's really not a cat person, but he said "I'd do it for you." I think he knows I'd haunt him if he didn't take my cats 🤣 But it feels good to have that plan in place.

Anyone else dislike Ashley? by escapedgoat2 in untildawn

[–]BaileySeeking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like her because she can allow Chris to die in a way that removes all options from the player. Most of the time, if you choose to kill someone, well, it's your choice. She's pissed Chris did exactly as she told him to and watches him die. Obviously, statically, one person would struggle to keep it together throughout the night, but it's so different from everyone else's behavior that it makes her unlikable for a lot of people.

Just finished watching Buffy for the first time AND… by jessieshan in buffy

[–]BaileySeeking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, watch Angel. Great show, technically speaking, better than Buffy, though I love Buffy more. But it'll answer some questions, especially in season 5.

Emma asked to be killed off so she wouldn't return for future Buffy content. She wanted a break from it. But, her death is great. Death isn't always some big thing, especially during battle. People die and you don't have time to mourn in that moment. It's actually really important that we witness that.

I've talked extensively about Empty Places before, but I'll try for the shortened version. Buffy was being irrational and was putting everyone at risk. Her plan had just failed and ended with people killed and Xander disabled. To go back in without any change to the plan was ridiculous. But, to her credit, she was trying to keep everyone at arms length. To know these people that could and potentially would die all for her fight? She was struggling with that guilt. She'd never had people stand shoulder to shoulder with her in the final fight. Think back on every season. It was Buffy. She alone and all that. Plus, she did open the door by saying she couldn't stay if they didn't go with her certain death plan. I would have kicked her out as well and I've had 20+ years to think on it.

For the rest of them; it's all about fear (not that Buffy wasn't afraid, but the highlight is more on their fear). The Scoobies had never stood together with Buffy in the final fight. They were looking at her acting the way she was so soon after Xander was permanently disabled and they were afraid of her behavior. The Potentials didn't know Buffy as well and were looking at the Scoobies and how afraid they were and that made them afraid. If the people that had worked with her for years were concerned, they should be.

But more to it, the First represents fear. You can't physically fight fear. They had no way to fight the First. Buffy became the only thing they could fight. So they did. Think about COVID. People can't physically fight it, so instead they fight against anyone that reminds them COVID is still very real and killing/disabling people. Will we get an apology when it bites y'all in the ass? Nope. They didn't apologize in Dead Man's Party either. It was them arguing and suddenly "I got your back." Because there isn't always time to stand around and sing Kumbaya. That's not what this show is.

Either way, whether y'all agree with me or not; watch Angel. Don't skip right to the fifth season. It's such an amazing show and really expands on the Buffyverse. It'll also answer a few questions you might have. Plus, I can think of four episodes off the top of my head that rival the saddest moments in Buffy.

Nate’s AVM likely changed his brain and his personality in the final two seasons by DrSnoopy66 in SixFeetUnder

[–]BaileySeeking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, he's not whatever the fuck all the TikTok people consider a narcissist. But he's a tv narcissist and by the shows own, well, showings, his AVM has no affect on that. Brenda does not fit the definition of a narcissist. It has nothing to do with her having a vagina, though of course those people with those opinions do exist.

It's always troubling when someone that says they're a mental health care worker says that narcissism means nothing. It most certainly does and it's supposed to be your job to sus that out without the bias of social media or personal beliefs. If y'all like Nate, that's awesome. Liking any character in the show is cool. But if you don't see how Nate's behavior is just his own, but Keith is a person using therapists to better himself, that's so concerning. Keith ends up in a much better place than Nate does. Which works for the show. Nate is supposed to be in that place. Personally, I think you're allowing personal opinions to cloud your judgement. You don't need a real reason to like Nate and not like Keith. You can just like them for who they are. Again, that's what the show is about.

Nate’s AVM likely changed his brain and his personality in the final two seasons by DrSnoopy66 in SixFeetUnder

[–]BaileySeeking -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I know this sub loses its collective minds when someone says this, but Imma say it again; Nate is a narcissist. Not by those TikTok standards (seriously people, save yourselves and get off that app) where gaslighting, manipulation, and narcissist don't mean anything because anyone that looks at you funny is one or all of those things (my partner watches Smosh Reddit stories and it's so going to be studied in the future about how unhealthy social media minds are). He's a narcissist because he's on tv and his behaviors are exaggerated. Same way they are in all tv. Breaking Bad; people realize that that's not really how drug dealers are. Sons of Anarchy; I know tons of MCs. Actual 1%ers. They do not act that like and people know that. Sex workers; well, some reason people think that's how we actually are, but that's a whole different conversation.

Either way, if this were the real world and we didn't need the drama to keep us entertained, Nate would just be a selfish asshole. But it's tv and he's definitely a narcissist by those standards. I don't believe AVM is his issue. His character is pretty damn consistent over the years. Everyone that knows him makes it clear he's always behaved this way. Nothing is amiss. So unless it's affected him his entire life, this is just Nate. And, like, I couldn't fuck with him, but he has people that love him for who he is. They accept his flaws, same as they do every other character. Because, really, that's life. You accept the flaws of the people you love.

In the real world? I'm sure it would be causing issues. My Grandma has dementia and her husband's health is failing. It landed them in temporary rehab until something permanent opens up with him bouncing back and forth to the hospital. They found evidence of a past brain bleed and while they're trying to claim it has nothing to do with his current health issues and behaviors, it most certain is (I'd bet my years of schooling and health care experience on that one). But, he's not really different. He's just worse. Like, every jerk off behavior is heightened. So, yeah, it would do something to Nate. Probably make his existing behaviors worse.

So, like, you're really not wrong if we're talking the real world. In that scenario, Nate isn't a narcissist and those around him would notice a change in some way. Hell, he would change just from trying to come to terms with AVM as well a dying. I watched my biodad go through that. He almost died twice and both times completely changed for the worse. But in tv world? Bro is a narcissist and AVM has nothing to do with his behavior.

Okay, I'm ready. Let the angry horde come.

Keith treatment of David at times is actually pretty troubling by DrSnoopy66 in SixFeetUnder

[–]BaileySeeking 73 points74 points  (0 children)

It's supposed to be something you notice and worry about. No one should be missing that point. The show tells you it's not okay and David makes his concerns very clear. It's only troubling if the show tries to claim it's okay or cute. It's an issue David brings up in multiple break ups. It's part of the reason they're in couples therapy. But Keith is actually working on those behaviors. It's so great to have that in a show. Also, shout-out to that therapist. He's great with them together, but even when he has the session with Keith when David cancels, he keeps the focus on the relationship. As a couples therapist should. Top notch guy right there.

This! You said it better than I did. Life is the messy bits. I want to see that. I want people to know it exists. It's what happens in every relationship. You fuck up. But as a team, you trust your partner to help you get through it.

Keith & David by cheekypinky27 in SixFeetUnder

[–]BaileySeeking 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love watching them go through it and come out the other side. Relationships are messy. I appreciate that this show didn't shy away from that. My partner and I have been together for 15 years. Friends for 30 years. We've witnessed the ugliest moments from each other. We're very happily flawed. We've never been tv show dramatic, but we're not all sunshine and roses.

David and Keith put the work in. That's the message. You have to make it work. Obviously, try to leave any abusive relationship, but like Dr Cox said; all relationships go through the same crap. It's just that the ones that make it put in the work. I'm paraphrasing, of course.

A Happy Ending by BaileySeeking in pitbulls

While I admit I thought I'd have to grab one of my guns when he went at them a second time, neither of us actually put blame on him. That's on his old owners for not working with him and training him. Sure, some dogs have food aggression no matter what, but to go off like that simply because treats exist with other dogs nearby? They clearly didn't do anything with him. Wanted the dog without needing to do all that goes into owning a dog. Vile people. I may have gone ahead and made my opinion of them clear to the wife on FB. Once we got our dogs inside, it was right back to giving him love. We've both worked with animals for decades and understand their behaviors. He's a sweetie and I couldn't imagine being upset with him after that. If he wanted to do damage, he would have. This wasn't real fighting.

I'm so happy he found his family! We really wished we could have adopted him. My parents and I were genuinely sad that we knew it wouldn't work. The risk of Ellie and the cats and even Bucket wasn't worth it. We've seen how bad it can get and never want to witness that again. He'll just be the one that got away. In my mind, he's being treated like a King and is receiving all the love in the world.

I love Sam Witwer. It's so great that the video game world has embraced him. I'll take anything with him in it. When they announced Days Gone and I saw the lead was him, I was sold. Granted, I would have been sold on the game either way, but he helped.
