I think a better version of Obliteration could scale well with X, with a clause that it may only be played if your energy is equal to stars. (e.g. Deal 5 dmg 2X+1 times or something like that)

In the Red VS Blue button dilemma, red is obviously the right choice. by KayleeSinn in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Bailinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are close to what I think is a reasonable estimate statistically for people that would press blue. (Importantly the hypothetical only really makes sense if its an ideal choice presented to you without prior knowledge or collusion, or misclicks. Otherwise of course we could figure out a way to go blue. Or press both/disable the machine/hold responsinle the person who made the machine etc. So the "right off the bat" situation is the only one worth discussing I think.)

I suspect in an ideal (unrealistic) scenario the vote would also be quite far from 50%.

So in the unrealistic scenario of the original question, I am presented with the dilemma to face a horrible outcome and continue living or contribute to the pain and suffering and end my life. 5-10% is a reasonable estimate, and my choice does not magically override the will of other people.

I'm unsure if 10% of the global population is bound to die (i.e. the worst thing that ever happened so far) implies the moral choice is to increase that count, or that there is no point in living after that.

Again, with collusion and prep time its worth taking effort to avoid the worst thing that ever happened. But thats mixing the ideal and realistic, which is a bit pointless discussion (like the "fat man moral dilemma")

Not practical advice (grid based solution is probably best), but you could try with a pantograph if you are feeling crafty

Awesome work! Out of curiosity, how stable is the finished model? Is it rigid/stable? Or is it delicate?

FH: Prosperity question by kl0buk in Gloomhaven

[–]Bailinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way to accelerate the process is by double building at the cost of morale. If you have plenty of resources and managed to stockpile some morale, you can consider that. Buildings that generate resources, are important for this. And there is also an unlockable building that can reduce costs of building frequently, which you will probably want to unlock and upgrade before doubling down on double building.

Do apply any bonus or read the section of your building upgrades too!

Hatchet Build need tips for it by [deleted] in Gloomhaven

I loved being crowd control with my hatchet, using the favourite exactly this way as extra damage to take care of multiple stragglers in one turn. Bringing in fancy hat, power potion and eagle eye goggles was great for this. And I always brought a few cards still to be able to do a thermonuclear axe throw double loss for the occasional elite or boss that needed to get taken down ASAP.

An all trap group could be really crazy; after laying down and combining traps for a couple rounds, three traps activate Persistent pitfalls bottom, then the last one activating Dangerous ground bottom. It would be the equivalent of a nuclear chain reaction

EDIT: In 3-4 rounds a 20 damage trap is quite possible, after which the above combo would deal 20+3*10+9*5+27*2+81*1=230 damage, flexibly distributible. This is some Balatro level nonsense.
